Deletion Of Threads
You also have to understand the fustration of the consumer who got shafted. I remember when I had a problem with Lancershop, I explained to everyone my situation. Lancershop responded promptly and the issue was resolved. When you have a forum member making an accusation againts a vendor and the vendor does not respond .... I dont know but it seems to me the vendor may have something to hide. Everyone makes mistake, but its how you correct the mistake that really matters. I am going to purchase some parts soon, and I am going to buy them thru Lancershop. I understand the concept about vendors paying EVOm to advertise, but on the same token if Evom did not have forum members would the vendors advertise here.
I don't think threads should ever be deleted. Lock them, if you must. X out anything libelous. But don't remove material simply because a sponsoring vendor might find it harmful. I know vendor fees keep this sight running, but without normal users to see their ads, there won't be any point in advertising here. And feedback about vendors is a major reason why users come here.
Maybe we should start submitting vendor feedback to http://www.resellerratings.com. Negative comments there don't get removed just because someone doesn't like them.
