Why??????????????

Why doesn't this site have a area in the market place that you can sale none car related stuff??? I was in the WRX community for a while and on NASIOC you could sale whatever you wanted to. It seem like to me that the modoraters are a bunch of COPs and they just want to run this site like a DICTATERSHIP!!! There should be some changes to this site to make it more inviting to new members. I posted last night 2 for sale threads. One for a Xbox 360 with games and the other for a PS2 slim with games. Both of them have been removed because there is nowhere on this site that you can sale items like that.

I am here to stay, I'm just saying that there should me more freedom on this site, IT'S THAT EASY!!!! Maybe everyone who is not a modorater should have a vote on the rules. And that is real good to tell someone to go elsewhere because they do not agree with the rules. Sounds like you think you are some kind of bad a*s. Rules should be changed here and if you don't like what I am saying to bad its called FREEDOM OF SPEECH and that is a freedom that I fought for at war. I would bet that more than 75% of the member on here think that there should be some changes to the RULES!!!!!

I would think that 75% of the members like it just as it is and see no need to change the rules for a site that works very well indeed. Want to sell something? Go sell it on Ebay or take out a for sale ad in the local newspaper. As it is, this is a privately owned website and the owners run it as they see fit. And the moderators that you speak of volunteer their time to help keep everybody in line so the most people can get the most enjoyment. I 'm sure you are welcome to post your thoughts as to needed changes, but comparing this website to a dictatorship is just plain ignorant and misinformed.

Probably because the Admins have expressly prohibited such talk here (see #17). See link above if you are unsure as to any of the rules. Nobody is trying to bash here, just trying to be helpful.

Have you tried sending a PM or something to a moderator? Perhaps there are reasons for them not to have such an area.

The most obvious to me is that this site does not exist for the purpose of selling/buying random items. This site, imo exists for the exchange of knowledge and opinions of things evo/lancer related and is designed to cater for those with such interests. While there are features that provide auxiliary services for members, I do not think I am alone in feeling that these are bonuses rather than the main feature of the site and should therefore be treated as such.

Secondly, there are often posts about people being scammed or scammers on this and other automotive sites and when such a case occurs, it's not a good thing for anybody involved and causes problems generally. There are places like eBay for such activities. The regulations and rules that must be put in place and the systems involved for these things are a nightmare and their implementation would not be worth it, imo, for sites as small - in comparison - as EvoM. On the other hand if such features (selling/buying of anything) were to exist and no rules are in place, the moderators and site owners would be blamed for not looking after its members and so on and so forth.

Finally, and I hope I'm not insulting anybody here, but would the items you tried to sell get better exposure though other means? This site is, after all, a 'niche' interst.

^Seriously, I think you're in the wrong site here. I'm not saying anybody's right or wrong (although street racing kills people, is retarded, gives us all a bad reputation, and kills more people) but there are several other Evo/Lancer forums out there that may agree with your view more and are more agreeable to your wishes.

I'm not taking sides here, but I really don't think it's the most intelligent idea to try to change an entire site/forum because it doesn't suit youself. Better to find another one altogether.

I don't think you have enough question marks in your subject line. These forums are free and are privately owned. If we payed monthly for membership it would be a different story but basically everything is given to us and I think the rules are fair given the circumstances.

Hi everyone,

The site is currently struggling with the present volume. The owner has an action plan to complete a site upgrade by the end of the year including several new servers. We made a decision several months ago to remove non auto related for sale threads to cut down on the server workload. I do not know whether that will be reversed after the upgrades.

Personally I see little incentive to use the sites bandwidth to sell video games etc. I feel it increases the chance of scams because we don't know the products and not in line with Evom's theme. Thanks.

Speedlimit..

What Speedlimit said.

Let's remember some basic ideas. This is a car forum. If you want to sell video games, go to a video game forum.
Street racing is illegal. This board is privately owned. The owner can choose to not have illegal things on his site. Same reason we have no ****.

Lastly, it IS a dictatorship. Got it? This isn't the U.S.A. - this is a PRIVATELY owned message board. The owner makes the rules and places moderators to enforce them. If you do not like the rules of this message board, please do not use it. We have neither the time nor the energy to deal with people that are here just to cause problems. YOU encountered a user agreement when you joined. Perhaps if you'd read that user agreement, you'd know that there are rules you have to follow.

If someone is worried about getting scammed all they have to do is setup a paypal account. Paypal is the only way that I will send or receive money. And I feel that this site needs some changes to make it better. And just because some people think that SR hurts alot people doesn't mean that they should be flamed for talking about it. So maybe we should not talk about WAR to other things like that where people get hurt. But, I posted this thread because 2 of my threads got removed last night. I posted my Xbox 360 and games, and PS2 slim with games for sale. They was removed because moderators feel that they are cop and want to regulate everything. There is a very small chance that anyone could get scammed when paying through paypal. Paypal is the safest way to pay for something on the enternet. I am finished with this thread, my Xbox 360 and PS2 will be posted in my siggy. I will only take paypal for payment and I will send pics upon request. I wish this site was more friendly to members. EVOs might be faster and funner to drive but the WRX community is alot more friendly to there members.

Our rules apply to both forums and signatures. Signature removed. Enjoy the site and respect our rules; even the ones you do not agree with. Thanks.

And of course you replaced your signature with another for sale list. Account disabled for 3 days. If you continue to play games when you return or create another account, your account(s), posts, IP and all will be removed permanently.

Edit: Paroled after 1 day.
