mute point

hi mods,

not trying to make the world over, just a point of view.

when a person needs to make a quick check of his local area to search for something he needs. well, lets just take the hypothetical, say a guy needs a set of track tires TOMORROW, wouldn't he be wise to ask the local people if they had any available?

now we won't get into why anybody would be so simple minded as to wait until the night before, before realizing his tires were corded. prolly the same type a guy who wouldn't have read the rules on buy/sale.

oh the agony.

I guess I'd say:
Suppose that person has about 1200 posts or so, they can do what you say in the below rule-following way.

Post a WTB ad in the appropriate marketplace forum, then post a thread in the Regionals that links that ad.

what would you call a post you can't read, moot or mute, I'll admit its a poor attempt at word play, but I already acknowledged I have issues.

It's moot. As in null. And yes, linking to a for sale thread as mentioned above is acceptable. We ask that people not abuse it however, and use it for local sales only and large items that they're reluctant to ship.
