WE NEED THIS! - Dyno Sub-Forum
I am in the Engine/Turbo/Drivetrain section everyday. I think it would be incredibly beneficial to have a separate dyno forum where people can share their mods, dyno graphs and use comparisons. I feel like every other sub forum has people asking for dyno sheets of "xx" over and over everyday.
Its not even their fault completely. When you do a search for dyno on xx turbo you come up with Miluakee's drunkest EVO owners and nonsense like that.
We need this way more than a multimedia forum or anything like that.
What do you (mods) think?

That's not a bad idea. The only issue is trying to keep it moderated with just Dyno graphs and keeping the discussions on topic. I think it would be a nice resource to have but we all need to figure out a way to keep it on course.

Also the other conflicting item we have is this: https://www.evolutionm.net/registry/dynos.php
It's basically a dyno graph listing but without the discussions. Maybe integrating the 2 could be an option.

Yeah I know that is there but lets face it, it sucks
I was just thinking about this. I think it would benefit the community GREATLY. Im glad there is a thread about it.
We should have a "Proven Power Bragging" like NASIOC does...

Nice. Can we open a bench racing forum too?
Personally I like dynos in the registry, but I think they'd be better served by having links to a user's registry through the drop-down menus when you click their name.
Personally I'm not wild about the idea of a new dyno forum, but honestly...I don't care that much either way FWIW.

Bench racing is retarded and people should be banned for it. If you want to open a forum for it, I would not care.
As for the dyno forum, I suggested it because just about every other forum has one and they are a success. I love how I can go into LS1tech and easily search for combinations and see real world dyno results with exact mods. The dyno registry we have is weak and no one uses it because its nothing special. (It sucks, face it).

A completely and totally agree with this. I know moderating it can be a pain, if you have people posting up non-dyno material, but the same can be said of all the other forums. In fact a pure dyno section should be pretty self explanatory, the section is for viewing and sharing of EVO only dyno graphs and mods, I don't know how somebody could mix this up with drag racing or vendor complaints, but I realize some people will just not get it and still post these things, but I believe it shouldn't be a huge issue and non-dyno threads will be easily noticed and should be easily moved to another part of the forums.
I know there is a dyno section with the registry, but I have always believed that too few people actually look at and post their numbers in the registry, this is part of the reason why I started my own personal 1/4 mile list to track down exactly how many EVOs were running 12.99 and faster. I mean if I went by the registry I'd believe the number to be less than 100, while the true number is hundreds and hundreds of EVOs. This is the same case for the dyno and registry. Regardless, people/members will continue to post their numbers in EVO Engine/Turbo/Drivetrain section and a sub section would just (in my opinion) make it easier to read and keep track. I remember a thread where a member was asking what was the highest dyno a stock turbo EVO ever put down, and I remember reading a thread a while back about a EVO that put down some very high numbers on the stock turbo. I knew for sure I read it in the EVO/Engine/Turbo/Drivetrain section, but it was a while ago. So I was searching for what seemed like over a half an hour only to say, forget it. I just think if there was a sub forum for dynos, it would have been much easier to locate these types of threads. This is just my opinion, if we have a sub forum or not this still is a great site.

Well since you have a Lancer, Im sure you dont care as much about a dyno forum since racing and modding is much more apparent in the EVOs than they are in regular Lancers.

Like I said though, I don't care much either way, but my personal preference is for easier access to registry dyno charts. The system is already in place, and it requires no additional moderation or attention aside from an added link in an existing menu.

Hobie, the main point is most Lancers are stock or have very very minimal mods. Dyno's and Lancers really arent too synonomous. Sure there are some fast ones with a boat load of mods and thats awesome but the majority dont mod and race. The majority of EVOs do and everyone wants this.
The moderation in a dyno forum would be a cinch. You post dynos and discuss. Period. No questions about dyno numbers, no requests to see dyno numbers, yada. Hell, Ill moderate it. Just give me the power to lock or delete the bad threads and its done. The registry hardly has anyone in there because no one uses it. yes that is because harldy anyone knows it exists but for the people who do, they dont use it. If it were deleted Im sure no one would even mention it. No one updates it and hardly anyone even posts their dyno in it. Everyone posts dynos in the Engine Turbo Drivetrain and thats just the way it is. Ask just about any member and they will agree. It seems the only people who like it are the mods for some reason?

Presumably when you post these threads you're looking for input. I posted mine. It counts just the same as anyone else's. This rates about a 2 on my care-o-meter, but, again, it's something I don't think we need. When it comes to structure and organization it just doesn't make sense to me to add another forum for something so trivial. And give it a couple months before there's a request for model specific dyno chart subforums. If it's so important, put a hyperlink to your registry's dyno chart in your sig IMO.
But, again, It doesn't really matter all that much either way to me.

There's no reason I should even continue trying to explain why what I drive has no impact on this issue. If you don't see it now, you're simply not going to.
