He was NEVER outright banned. EVERY time he got one warning followed by another warning followed by another warning, followed by another warning which equals a ban. When I first spoke to him as !!!!!!!!OZ he even said he was not shocked when L E N A R C was banned.

The rules Mark set forth are very simple. They're not very restrictive and they don't ask for much from the user. Simply put there is NO reason we should warn someone for spamming something like outwar and not warn someone for spamming a Lancer related site. When you start to make exceptions or pick favorites you start to have problems.

There has been NO attempt made to permanently ban Stew. All he's lost is a name, title and post count. Big deal. Personally I like Stew. Stew, you probably already know this. I talk to him fairly frequently on AIM. I also think this thread is very immature and that the constant CALSLAM and TEAMSLAM posts were very annoying. I mean, hell...I don't see why the link in the sig isn't good enough.

I'm an active member of several auto forums and moderator of another forum but you don't see me posting links ***** nilly. I think that after the first few warnings and/or banning it was pretty clear that we ONLY wanted him to stop the barrage of links and he never did. It continued and here we are now. I'm still hoping for a simple resolution, but I guess only time will tell.

Agreed. Although I do not have an issue with the ondividual in question, I have been irritated by reading numerous threads that randomly seem to promote TeamSlam or CALSlam.

Sorry man, but I don't care about either one. If it was in your sig, that'd be cool with me, but I'm tired of looking at all the new threads for the day seeing that each one has a link to the two slams thrown in completely randomly.

If you've been warned in the past, it's your fault. You're not being picked on, after all from what I read, a lot of people here like you. It would upset me if a mod was mad at me or warned me about breaking the rules. However, if I did in fact break the rules, I would accept the warning and not break the rules again.

Since you've been warned several times, apparently you're just looking for trouble. If you end up banned, like those before you, you most likely deserve it.

Don't worry. Time goes on. If you end up banned, people will forget you. New members will never know you. You won't have a lasting impact, regardless of how many people like you.

This is a cruel world, and Mark is the tryant that rules with an iron fist. Those subjects that appease him are rewarded with access to a wonderful wealth of information and good times. Those who oppose him are struck down in a fury.

You obey the laws of your country, right? Think of EvoM as a different country, that you cross into every time you log in. If I was a moderator (hint hint Mark...lol), I would have issued the same warnings.

I'm glad you're here. You've got some great stuff that you bring to this group, but I can live without it, and so can everyone else.

so let me get this right he cant offer trips on this site, so lancer owners on this site wont know about his dyno day at vishnus or the bbq? so does that mean people arent allowed to get meetings posted online? i see that thread he got warned on as a invatation to a meet? i also see about 20 other people doing the same thing, team slam or not ! punish them all for this and lets not pick one 1 person
im not picking sides im seeing whats show on both and stateing my opinion

I'm sure if you pick out the people you're talking about, and provide links to the threads in question, the Mods will be happy to take a look around.

We aren't complaning about listing meets or anything like that...you wanna know what pissed me off? Here's an example post:

Start of post
----------------------------------------------------------------

----------------------------------------------------------------
End of post

That's what gets to me. Being an active, responsible member does not mean you can post OFF TOPIC links in random threads without providing any other advice or insight. Had he said, "Hey, this thread here at CALSLAM (insert link) might help you with that problem you're having." That would be okay.

Instead, for example, someone says:

"Do you like my new bumper?"

the reply is:

"TEAMSLAM LINK"

That bothers me. If it didn't bother you, fine, but it's against the rules. If you don't like the rules, and choose not to abide by them, you should leave.

Talking Lies All Lies!

Stew is welcome to put a link in his signature and every time he posts he gets to advertise his site. This has been allowed by Mark. The issue is when you have a thread like a techincal thread about engine tuning and he posts a response that simply advertises CAL SLAM or TEAM SLAM.

This is off-topic for the thread and does not contribute to the thread. The rules of use are not very restrictive to the users of this forum and they are there to make the experience for everyone an informative one. Is it so hard to understand that this is spam, and why?

Here is an example and the one I gave him the warning for.

https://www.evolutionm.net/forums/sh...073#post369073

Review the rules of use and you will understand why this does not belong in a technical thread.
All lies. That thread was about Vishnu's. I only stated the obvious. Come down and meet Shiv, get dyno'd. Blah Blah Blah. Team SLAM.

This thread seems to be a calslam ad in its own. It is great advertising though. And stew didn't haveta pay for it ... heh

As a member of calslam .. I personally think that stew may have gone overboard with the calslam-spam on this board. His posts are creative and fun to read generally .. but not really when its ONLY a calslam-spam post.

Seems like there should be an agreement between both parties here:

Stew:
1. Places a calslam url in his sig.
2. Stops calslam-spamming in posts and posts relevant info to the thread he is posting.

Evom.net/mods/admins:
1. Restore the booyah username
2. Restores the booyah post count

both stew and mods/admins:
1. both Understand that if stew calslam-spams once more, a warning will be issued.
2. both understand that if stew then does another calslam-spam again, he is ip banned.

All other users that care about this:
1. Understand that the mods/admin have rules to enforce. Live by the rules or suffer the consenquences. Don't ***** when you get warned/banned.
2. Drop this subject?
3. Paypal me 2 bucks.

Please keep in mind that I've never met stew or any of the mods or the admin. I just post here cause the posters are cool guys to chat about cars with.

Generally speaking. I don't think this has anything to do with "spamming" but more the wrong approach a person would take to promote a site, club or event. I see nothing wrong with the promotion of a person's website just as long as it doesn't interfere with topics and information that gets posted in this forum. It's hard enough having to sort through all the unrelated posts and flames to find what you need. A link in the signature would be sufficient or perhaps a specific thread? I can see the reason why mods would have trouble with the approach stew used. It's like going to a McDonald's drive thru and ordering a whopper. Its like trying to sell Lancer parts out of your trunk in front of Road///Race. It's simply a conflict of interest but I don't think banning him would solve the problem and trust me as I speak from experience. SCLC is self contained within the Western Regional Forums which happens to be a very small area of this web site and this has been more then enough for the club to thrive and grow. It's hard to get the word out and let people know of your existence and yet, be discreet the same time. We try not to step on any toes as we do appreciate this web site, for without it our club would not have come into existence. Maybe a simple solution would be to provide a "links" to other web sites on the top bar next to "tech guide"? I know that once we get sclc.net finished some exposure would be nice.

EvolutionM does not provide any "meet and greet" type opportunities for its members, at least not any sponsored or organized by itself. I don't see an issue with allowing another site to advertise on this site that will help bring about meet and greet type opportunities. BUT the advertising should be "acceptable" and PAID for.

Really though, lets just let this whole topic die away, it is not constructive towards anything Lancer related. And I am tired of getting the little emails telling me I have gotten a reply to this topic.

Let's move on to bigger better things, picking fights or saying "Your stupid" only gets a "No your stupid" reply. Nothing constructive, so really LET IT GO.

And for Final Emphasis:

Maybe what we can do is have a links thread on the US Lancer general page and have links added to the first post over the next few months. That way various info links can be posted for other members and newbies to review.

I haven't had a formal EvoM meet myself, but there's tons of meets going on each week. My suggestion to all the members is to check the regional forums at least once each day.

Here's how I see resolving the regional meet issues:

Anyone can start a regional meet anywhere, but those posts should remain in the regional forums. To get additional exposure to the regional thread a member can create a new thread in the General forum with a link to the regional thread... simple solution that keeps things formatted correctly.

As for Booyah getting his name back... remember we didn't force him to commit his actions and he willingly posted in a way that he knew would eventually get him banned. He may not agree with our policy on this issue, but that doesn't give him or anyone else the right to violate it.

We're not really looking advertising money from any site, but rather vendors selling products, etc. Sites setting up meets, etc can post in the regional forums at no charge and by posting a link-to in the general forum, a good amount of viewers will be reached.

every member has to abide by the rules. spamming like any unwanted mail is deleted permanently. that is what makes this forum organized.

So, if and when Team SLAM starts selling stuff, for example, hard to find JDM parts for Lancers and Evos, then we can buy some vendor space on Evolutionm.net? That would be cool. Seems right to me.

Waaa Waaa WAAAAAAAA

I have been warned, too, for insulting a member when they made a dumb comment. Oh well - the spam thing did get very annoying, but mods - remember, you are not Judge Wapner...
