Change your browser identification to make the site think your phone is a fully featured version of Firefox/IE/Opera/etc...

It's under "/System/Library/PrivateFrameworks/WebKit.framework/"

Change it to "Mozilla/5.0 (X11; U; Linux i686; en-US; rv:1.9.0.2) Gecko/2008092313 Ubuntu/8.04 (hardy) Firefox/3.1.6"

Jesus Christ.. I don't even own an iPhone and I'm helping out newbs who can't figure out how to use the easiest-to-use PLAYSKOOL© phone in the world.

 

Right, right. I'll just jailbreak my iPhone, void the warranty (which I have already had to use once), and risk destroying the phone in the process. Or, EvoM can make the mobile version optional.

I vote for door #2.

 

Congrats on your iPhone purchase. Or you can get phones which browse the web under any browser identification with a simple selection of which one you want to use, so you can go back and forth between mobile and desktop versions. Are you going to go around the web harping on the web developers because they don't put in an iPhone version of the site? LOL

 

Who said anything about an iPhone version. I'd be happy with the desktop version that worked on my iPhone for the past 5 months until last week.

 

You must not understand what the relationship is between user agents and web pages when you're browsing the web.

 

I know I'm new however I agree with the others. I would much rather have the full version vs the mobile site. I seems the mobile site is also slower? I dunno I'm doing alot of research and the mobile site makes it hard to find anything.

I don't care about browser ids, I just want the mobile version disabled because it sucks.

mobile site rocks for those of us cool enough to own a blackberry vs. an iphone.

So don't dump the mobile site. Just fix the detection code to skip the iphone.

 

I wanted the old mobile version back, not the full site. Iphone owners can jump off a bridge IMO. I use a blackberry and the full version is annoying. I don't wanna see avatars. I guess I just won't post anymore from my phone.

 

I am using a blackberry to browse and up until a day or two ago everytime I tried logging in I got an error 404 saying login.php not found. I posted asking about it in the evo newbie forum and did not get any replys.

I am not having any trouble now though so hopefully this is no longer going to be an issue.

 

No need to jailbreak your iphone. Ever heard of a proxy server? I'm can't believe i didn't think about it before. Here are a list of servers that should work. Save the links in your bookmark and access the old version. I use KProxy very easy. Some may not work. Please someone give me a round of applause
