Please!?!

I know there's been several complaints about the new search function (lack of). I actually tried to search for some torque specs that aren't covered under the torque spec thread. I've found them before with the old way with no problems. This new search needs to go. It is absolutely worthless. I can probably find what I'm looking for faster by just digging through the entire drivetrain forum.

Thank you and Merry Christmas.

Can you be more specific about what issues you're having with it?

I get multiple results for the same thread (even under relevance). It used to be when you put your cursor over a thread title, it would pop up most of the first post. With multiple results for the same thread, it pops up some random post in the thread. So I think maybe it's a different thread with the same title. Nope. The number of pages of results seems to be completely random. I searched "torque spec" and only got 2 pages. I know that's not right. The results page seems to do some sort of auto refresh, completely changing the results, while I'm looking through the results. I'm specifically looking for front suspension torque specs that aren't listed in the torque spec thread. I've found them before with no problem. Now I can't find them at all.

Also, what determines relevance? I get threads that have high "relevance" that actually have little to no relevance to what I'm searching for at all.

If you want the search to behave more like the old search, change the sort option to "Post Date" instead of "Relevance"

I'm sure the thread I'm looking for hasn't been updated in quite awhile.

The old search wouldn't be much help to you, then, since the old one behaves just like the new one when set to sort by post date.

Yeah, but the old one seemed to use a combo of post date and relevance, not either or, and I didn't have to dig through pages of multiples of the same thread.
