Ok I've been here a short time so if this has been done before disregard....I've been a member of more than a few forums and a cool feature of more than a few of them was car of the month. I think a evo of the month evom cover car if u will would be a great addition to the forum. The format was usually the same people nominate cars that aren't your own and we vote on it and the winner is contacted via pm and writes a article bout his or her car. When it was bought how far u drove what all done pretty much u and ur cars history together. I know I enjoyed reading it every month and it was great braggin rights to be nominated by ur fellow forum members and always my goal to be featured. What do u think everyone?

I dunno... We have our Evo registry where members can rate it and you can write whatever you like about yourself and your car. No need to pick a ride for every month, sounds a little corny. Like tunerfriends or something. But thats just my opinion.

Yes generally since this hasn't been done here at all the mods would allow nominations. Then they would choose four or five based on the mods generally show and go from the nominations and then we all would vote via pm or a hidden poll that way when the decision is made were all surprised except the winner of course cause by then he would have been contacted by the mods and wrote his bio

Yes there is a registry but this is dif I know personally It was inspiration to me to be a cotm because it would be nominated voted and won based on the people with the highest regard for evos fellow evom members, hey just a idea cause its the main thing I miss bout those forums, and I think a lot of other people would enjoy it too.

We have this on a local car forum but it disappeared due to lack of interest. It's a good idea though, just have to figure out how to implement it (ie. do we hold a vote or do the staff decide?).

 

also it would be hard considering how many members we have here. small local forums are easier to set these up. we could have thousands of cars every month being entered. i think if myou had this going in the regional area threads, example would be you have to live in that region for your car to be entered. so there would be midwest, west, south east, etc etc etc. that would break it down into smaller groups of cars to vote on i guess.

 

NASIOC does a similar thing so it is entirely possible. NASIOC has a single gallery forum though so the STI guys mix with the WRX, RS, Legacy, etc. people.

 

You could do it based on lots of different things. This month's theme is: sickest looking Evo. Next month's theme is: cleanest looking Evo, March's theme is nominate a friend, April's theme is nominate nicest forum member, May's theme is best drag car.

Etc etc. That way it would be fair and we'd see all different kinds of cars, instead of track car after track car after track car.

 

Could do it by generation as well, say best Evo 8, best Evo 9, best Evo X, etc.

 

I was gonna mention this too every month there was a wild and a mild car of the month, and since evom is usually segregated anyway I was thinkin this would be a feature for evos new and old and then if the lancer guys wanted to they could in their own specific forum but voting is open to all, also to get it started y not go by join date to give the elders around here due respect if they haven't all traded for 335i lol
