Picture Signatures
That's why I am asking. What is defined as pictures that can get deleted? Bloody violence is okay, pornographic (of any kind) is not? What defines a picture as pornographic by EvoM's standards?
And you mean it is kind of hard to compare a pornographic picture of someone to an animated gif (like yours), right?

I think you're trying to prove some sort of point in regards to a removed pic completely different than this issue. "Moderator judgment" applies to all cases in our forums. If you have a specific issue (which I think you do), please take it up via PM with a Staff member.

I'm willing to give our members the benefit of the doubt in assuming that they know the difference between some humorous crudely drawn cartoon violence and something far more realistic. Saying it's hypocritical to allow RobertK's avatar but not nudity is laughable. Also, for what it's worth, we have taken appropriate action when people have posted excessively violent material, just like we would with pornographic material.
I believe it would cause trouble now if re-introduced because it has in the past, hence our prohibition of animated avatars for about 4 years now. I and the rest of the Staff have our hand full as it is with folks thinking ***** and butts are perfectly fine for avatars, I shudder to think what would happen if we again allow animation. On top of that, we have the broken search engine issue we're dealing with and a host of other things the members never see. My point is, we have enough on our plate now occupying our time and I think the animated avatar issue is a pretty low concern when compared to search engine issues, etc and best tabled for now, to be discussed at a later time.
Sounds good to me. Still wish someone could point me to a link that has the rules for posting pictures. But I guess from now on if I have a question about one, I will ask.
Maybe I just need to read through all the EvoM rules again since it has been awhile.
And, also, if you look at my posts, most of them are much more recent than my join date, I joined when I got an Evo, but had no real use for the site for awhile. Plus I'm pretty sure this is the first time I've noticed Robert on here even. But that doesn't matter anyway.

So... It follows the rules for posting avatars? Or what? I even ran a search in that massive section for "picture rules" and it did, well, as well as the EvoM search normally does.
Though, like I said, doesn't really matter, you guys can make up rules on the fly if you wanted.
And also, how to we report inappropriate avatars (I can see now that Robert's definitely wouldn't be considered inappropriate, unless you have a really uptight LDS boss, like me [making it nws] or you have a 3 year-old viewing it as a "minor" [but since that part is defined as just under 18, a 17 year-old would be fine with the avatar), I have seen a lot that break the rules.
