Nowhere in the forum rules do I see anything related to off topic and how rules apply or do not apply there. Can I be a racist elitist *** and dodge the swear filter and insult everyone to no end based on religion and ethnicity? My guess is, no, I can not because of the rules.

But it is ok to post the same tired crap over and over there, because a mod does it.

Gotchya.
I think there is a bit of difference between OT and the rest of the forums. In OT, we allow (and have allowed) greater leeway than in the rest of the forums. Yes, site rules apply (as is clearly stated, stickied in the guidelines), but your example is a poor one. You cite the G.B.U. threads as repetitive and similar as the OP's argument. I disagree as the G.B.U. threads are recaps of ones week/weekend. News and sports stations routinely do recaps of the weekends events as a way for one to catch up on missed news, this is very much the same.

I know you obviously have issues with some or maybe most of the Staff here, but this thread is not the place to address it. If you have a problem with a Staff member, a PM to me would be most welcome. The OP's question has been answered and he may feel free to follow up with Smike or Mr. Turco if he wants clarification.

I also think it sucks that thread was deleted, yes it may not have gotten everyone on this communitys vote but it would just be intersting to see who replied and what they have. It was just ment to be a sampling of our community and it would have been interesting to see. Pretty rediculous it got deleted...IHMO

Instead of having a new one, why not let one just keep going? Saying it is similar to a sports cast is just wrong. There is nothing competitive about OT.

I find it to be a great example honestly. It adds nothing to the forum but more mess and to boot a mod starts it. That is not leading by example.

If OT has less rules, then people should post all the bull**** in there and call it a day. Not just cats, cake and the fact some one got paid or **** them selves. This just goes back to the rule enforcement thread a few weeks ago. You guys pick and choose what to moderate and it is in **** poor taste.

You think my example is poor, but all of OT is poor. It adds nothing. One thread made by a guy with a poll on it about our community is deleted because it kind of resembles another thread with nation wide values, not really connected to evom. That does not sound like it is similar to me, at all.

I think the moderation needs to be moderated.

Cough, ah its SuperMod.

GBU is a tradition. If you go to OT, you would know that. Its a weekly recap. OT is OT - there are more rules in OT, both implicit and explicit. The members there respect them and if not - they get the same punishments.

Connecting a thread about production numbers (factual numbers) to a recap thread - thats a stretch. And the thread in question here didn't kind of resemble another - it was the same. What is the validity of the data? You want cars, which already have been broken down by versions, broken down more to options - this is not a SVT here (Ford documents all SVTs -- you get to know exact info on all of them). But only some of the owners of the cars might come in to vote - thats useless information. Your data pool is skewed and can be incorrect (incorrect voting, etc.). The numbers in the production thread are defined.

But this really isn't about all that - is it? If you have an issue, address it. If you just want to stir the pot, come on out and say it. And again, PMs are always welcomed.

Dennis, Your going to have to get used to it. Clearly, those who moderate these forums in some cases stick to each others assess against certain members for various reasons. It's life though, so to say, and you just have to learn to get through it.
The amount of threads I got deleted/closed is quite bit, for stupid reasons. Plus, truth of the matter, surely there may be another thread LIKE it, that's 5 years old. If we bring it up, we then get *****ed at for bringing up old threads.
Who the hell actually uses the search when they sign up for these forums at first anyways? How many members do it as well on a daily basis for random topics related to cars such as that what was, in this case, deleted.

I agree that the staff here needs moderation.
I will probably get booted for my comment, as I did before, simply because I state facts/truth, yet people on these forums tend to ride each others "stuff" so hard, and then get together to gangup on someone.

OT is stupid. It's much to overrated. Plus it mostly consists of those who really have no lives/don't even own an evo.
That's funny. I thought you join EVOM to discuss your evo, that you own. Not a miata, a s2000, a mustang or some crap. Join those forums..
but no, there is plenty of those guys on here who do join with other crap, then **** talk on others who have these cars that are younger than them or don't meet their own quota.
It's actually funny sometimes. The amount of Hate in these forums is ridiculous.

You need at least 6,000 posts to argue effectively with a moderator.... lol Mods have a tough job, it's like a babysitter without the pay... Good job guys, I wouldn't want your jobs. Just respect what they tell you, if you don't like it, there are other places to go and argue. Lets not stink up the site with the bickering, and take the mods reasonings and drop it. That way we can all be happy.

Haha, not likely. While your attempt to be a martyr for your 'cause' is noble, it's not really needed here and unnecessarily dramatic. It's called 'Site Feedback' for a reason, and I encourage the feedback.

In fact, the Staff is moderated by myself, the other Admins, and IB Staff. If you have an issue with any of my staff, a PM to me is most welcomed as I have said before. Since this thread has been active, I have received exactly 0 inquiries or PM's of any kind. I stand here available to address any concerns, and i anxiously await a PM detailing your specific concerns.

OK, your dislike of OT is noted, but really has nothing whatsoever to do with the original point of this thread.

OK, you also have a problem with OT and that is fine. But that has nothing at all to do with this topic. If you guys don't like OT, don't post in there. Problem solved.

So you say eh?
Well, FYI I did stop posting there.

It's just stupid how you say that rules there are much more strict than here, yet this is so much more leeway.

Jeez, did you actually read the rules made in there?
They are so stupid.

19'd, 26'd etc? so dumb.

Just my .02

We have a quota!!???

The general goal of evom is to have credible information in the actual car forums that you can search. I have yet to see one guy get bashed for bringing up an old thread in the car forums. Especially if he has a valid question or point. Unless of course its someone stating "nice car" in a 5 year old thread.

I wonder if a print screen of all of Tony's and Aku's points/warnings would prove a point with this guy....

I don't have a problem with OT, stop putting words in my mouth.

I am clearly stating that rules get put to the side because the majority of the *staff* posts in there. If the rules are more strict, why does so much **** get by? There are 100's if not thousands of duplicate post's in there and that is what my problem is, and that problem is selective moderation. It is nothing more then clutter and adds zero value to an Evo board, this is a Mitsubishi enthusiest forum correct?

I know first hand a PM to you is worthless unfortunately. Another one of your buds hooked me up with 5 points and I reached out to you because I strongly feel I was in the right. You, did nothing.

Evom has turned into a classified and cake recipe forum.

^^ This is clear rule infraction as it adds NOTHING to this thread.

Do you guys not get it?
OT is designated for people to vent because any forum for the most part has a section for that. As i stated before the rest of the forum is designated as a resource to be able to search from.
We are not here to inconvenience you guys. We just try to make this forum the most easily accessed source of info there is on Mitsubishi cars.

I am a little confused on the comparison between anything in OT and the other forums. This site is meant to house information pertinent to Mitsubishi cars and motors. What is posted in Off Topic has no intended value to Mitsubishi cars or motors. That said, what is pertinent is kept as consolidated and clean as possible so when someone is trying to reference important information they can find it. I am lost to why people don't see it that way?

I would agree with this. I don't see the harm in taking a sampling of what the members who are frequenting the forum now drive.
