I agree with this as well... 90% of the threads allowed to stay open are pointless. Why close one that has participation from the forum? blahh...

Why not just bump the old thread?

Connecting a thread about production numbers (factual numbers) to a recap thread - thats a stretch. And the thread in question here didn't kind of resemble another - it was the same. What is the validity of the data? You want cars, which already have been broken down by versions, broken down more to options - this is not a SVT here (Ford documents all SVTs -- you get to know exact info on all of them). But only some of the owners of the cars might come in to vote - thats useless information. Your data pool is skewed and can be incorrect (incorrect voting, etc.). The numbers in the production thread are defined.

But this really isn't about all that - is it? If you have an issue, address it. If you just want to stir the pot, come on out and say it. And again, PMs are always welcomed.
I gave you the benefit of the doubt, but I'm really starting to think that you didn't read the thread,or worst, your reading comprehension skills are deficient; if it is the latter, I candidly apologize.

The two thread were not the same, as I have mentioned, mine was just to see what people on evom have, and it was more specifc in the trim breakdown.

Your logic is flawed. You claim that the thread is not valid and none has argued with you that it is. Similarly, to threads like "age of evo owners", "how many miles on your evo", etc, the point of the thread were for entertainment purposes. Why were't those threads closed down due to invalidity?

All threads pose the risk of only some people participating, that is just the nature of forums. Its funny how atleast three other people came here to voice their opinion on how they were interested in the thread.

Lastly, not to single you out, but you never delete a lowering spring or swift springs related question even though there always the same question. Why is that? Ohh wait, maybe it's because of your sponsorship. I understand you may be trying to help these people, but its odd that the same exact threads don't get deleted

Excuse me? Civil discussion is one thing, but slander and flaming is another. Tread lightly.

Those other threads did not exists before they where started. As I have stated and will restate - the thread you started already exists in a form that is more than sufficient. And yes, there have been people, just like you, who have started threads that were too similar and they too were shutdown, closed, and/or trashed.

Because of my sponsorship? I leave them open so people can recommend other springs. How would it look if someone said "what springs should I run?" and I post "Swifts" then close the thread? Ill answer that - bad.

Recap: so you abandoned your validity and people won't participate arguments and have now turned to them being too similar?

"Too similar" is a matter of opinion; Let the community decide. There was absolutely no harm in living it open seeing as it was relatively popular. Getting a feel of what people on the forum have via a vote is different than the steady numbers of what was actually produced. Not to mention, once again, that the trims were broken down more.

You can just do what was done with this thread, just trash it or simply put search.

Ps, I own swifts and you had supplied me with great info via pm a while ago that I do appreciate; however, you favor certain threads for obvious reasons

I have not abandoned anything. I am retorting to your constant complaint that you were wronged. I, as well as many other Staff members, have gone over this a few times here for you.

EvoM is a private site. I (as all the Staff here) donates my time to help keep it running and manageable.

You and a few staff members have failed to provide adequate justification for your actions. Most of my responses to your "reasoning" for closing the thread have not been addressed, which may show that you agree wit me?

I was not wronged, it is the principle, like have mentioned a couple times.

We appreciate your time! But maybe there is a need to define manageable.

That is adequate justification for you.

Again - reasons: not good data, thread already with information on actual numbers.

I, as well as the Staff here, did not see the need for another thread on this. We have the right to open, close, trash, move threads as we see fit.

I am done on this subject. It is clear you cannot be happy, such is life.

dtrackstar,

Start the same poll in OT. Duplicate threads are OK there!

Not good data...that's like most of the threads in evo general. Why haven't you deleted them? Informative info is not the only point of threads, like the "age" or "how many miles" threads? I fail to see what relevant date am going to get by knowing the miles or age of other members.

Atleast stay consistent!

Dennis f, haha
