I think the membership idea is brilliant. We get discounts from stores and stuff...kinda like www.sharkracing.com

I think it's a great idea!
But I like the basic layout of the forums, and I like how things are separated in the sub-forum, it is easier to see threads we are interested for. If you merge sub-forum, with 20 or 25 threads per page, some thread could dissapread in a few hours, so being separated give a better life time.

However I don't know if you have to extend the forums to the whole mitsu line, it's "lancer" forums... Also I'm pretty sure 90% of the traffic on your site is made in the forum, and not in registry/gallery/multimedia/etc.

I have nothing against the "pay for more" as long as it's reasonable.

- Premium membership status on the site(this may give access to more new features as they come along)
- Personal homepage (username.lancerforums.com) w/ xxMB of space.
- Special lancerforums.com membership card or keychain card with unique serial number that will give you access to special discounts from vendors, track events, or whatever else the site can work out as we grow in popularity.

EXPANSION TO ALL MITSUBISHI LINEUP
--------------

This is just a possibility right now, but the site may expand to include all Mitsubishi vehicles. This will not effect lancerforums.com in any way. It will just expand the content and possibly give us a better chance to get information from Mitsubishi for future news, models, etc.

I'm currently fiddling with the general design right now and once that is complete I will start all the coding work. If anyone has any suggestions on things to add, etc I would love to hear about them.
Do I have this right? Pay as an option to gain extra benefits like www.overboost.com, reading extra tech articles or getting special deals. Seems like some have missed the point a bit.

Expansion of Mitsu line-up . Oh, that can be a mistake. This site is sure big by most standard out in cyberspace, unless ADMS and MODS would like to take extra time doing their duties for a super site.

As for the FTO guys, they are too fragmented in Euro to be effective members. They are good at what they are being local chapters in their respectable countries. I know since I have talked to them 4 times for the past 3.5 yrs.

Stick to your specialization being a lancer w/ a diverified community of drivers around the world. Just don't dilute your message by expanding too big.

It's a car made by Mitsubishi

The FTO GSX model's sports car performance comes from the 2000cc, V6, 24 valve, MIVEC, DOHC 6A12 engine adopting an ECI-MULTI fuel injection system. Translated, this means a power output of 200ps at 7500rpm and a maximum torque of 20.4kgm at 6000rpm. To smoothly transfer this get-up-and-go power the FTO integrates Mitsubishi's INVECS-ll, sport-mode, electronically conrolled , 4-speed automatic transmission offering the excitement of a manual transmission with a convenience of an automatic. For that straight running performance and clean sharp cornering, the FTO incorporates the 4-wheel indedependent suspension with McPherson strut front and multi-link rear systems. Add to this, advanced safety features such as ABS (Anti-lock Braking System), ELR seatbelts, SRS airbags for both driver and passenger as well as a host of others for a true sports car performance offering outstanding cost performance and safety.

I'm not too keen on the pay for idea, discounts to trackmeets and US stores are not much use to us folk in Australia. The t-shirts and mugs are a good idea but after freight and tax it wouldn't be worth it. Certainly if I was in US it would be good.

I think that the url for lancer forums should be about lancers. Maybe register Mitsuforums.com (if it isn't already) and make that a general mitsu forum.

Sorry to put a dampener on your ideas.
