Trapped in NOOBville

Although I have been lurking here for several years I have not posted as I didnt "officially" own an EVO. Now,that I do,I see that I am relegated to spending the next month or so,posting with all the other fresh owners(which is great ) However,it seems that I have nowhere else to go as of yet, because if I add a reply or comment to an existing main forum thread, its either ignored or I am hammered for either asking a "noob" question or not using the "search" feature .Well,to be honest,I have worn out the search feature years ago,the general forums get common topics recirculated every so often anyways as new owners come, and old owners go so who really cares ? Well,me for one as I dont want to interrupt the so called "flow" of things. No biggie, really, except, one minor item. I am looking to do some "mods" to my new EVO and would like to participate in the for sale section, even as a buyer. No can do until I have 50 legit posts. So,here I sit, patiently and obediently making my first of hopefully the required number of legit posts so that I may be able to join in the fun/savings of acquiring some aftermarket goodies for a deal. So hello everyone,if you all have any input please feel free to hit me,I will be here awhile !

I feel your pain dude...........i get the exact same feelings, having been lurking since last summer, and only posting here and there.............one tip i will say especially for the search function........try to do some searches with google for evom, i've realized the searching isn't great for more than one word, google seems to pickup stuff better
i'll do something like "emissions + high flow cat + evolutionm.net" works sooo much better than hitting it into the search here, kind of annoying

But yea, it sucks sometimes feeling people not reply back from you posts or even your PMs....i sent out 3 PMs(to different people) only got one response so far

I'm also not some guy who's gonna post on everything, so getting that count up is annoying....should a noob be considered one merely on the posts or the join date as well?.......

and not sure if people appreciate it or not, but i have no problem posting in another thread starting with "noob question......" I'd like to believe most people don't have a problem with helping others out

Well congrats on the new Evo, i just picked mine up like 4 weeks ago, don't forget to update your profile with what you drive....i just did that yesterday

Yeah,I appreciate the tip on searching,I have done that before and it seems to help. I will update pics when I get this car running, right now it looks like an empty blue shell with wheels. And since my wife is officially taking the vette from me,I guess I should update.Have a good one and thanks for the reply !

From: somewhere testing various tires, brakes, and suspensions.
You can PM members who have FS items up, but being a newbie, the likelihood of them contacting you back is totally up to them. Its an earned privilege to have those rights.

My suggestion is to read, learn, ask on-point questions if you have one. Contribute meaningful posts.

Thanks,

SmikeEvo

Exactly this. We don't ask for money, we don't charge a membership fee. All we ask is that you become a contributing member of the community and in return, we will grant access to the Marketplace. It's not really too much to ask....if you can't or won't do it, there is always craigslist or eBay....

You'll get there man. I've been on this forum for 8 years, back when it was still LancerForums, before Evos were even in America. And I don't even have 200 posts.
