Probably because you received too many warnings. Multiple user names will be terminated. Timeout is NOT a banning. It's a temporary restriction on posting. 4 warnings is a Timeout, 6 is a banning.

That's strange, I'm supposed to see some title saying you're visiting time out, but it just shows you as having 4 warnings. But I'm sending you a PM with the real reason (I thought warnings including a link to the offending post, too. Maybe I'm missing something here?). It has nothing to do with that off topic post.

That's actually a good question concerning how long but don't be entirely to surprised either to find this account terminated. Congrats, you're the first one to test one of our newer policies.

Shouldn't NEW POLICIES be posted and for warned before making somone an example? This is America right? Or did I relocated to Russia ?

And if it is new polices look at the Buchur Flash thread and tell me your in those folks asses for thier conduct on there.

is the forums necessarily america? there are people from all over the world here, unless the server that EvoM is on is in America, is it not necessarily America?

We're going through some learning stages with the Timeout system, so please bear with us. I think Timeout length can be specified, but there must be a system default, and I'm not sure what level of staff has the option available. (Moderators, Super Mods, Admin) Joel, I'm not banning this user name because I'm probably going to be sending you some PM's and stuff and going over the warning thing with you a bit too.

Anyway, Joel both Brian and I are looking into the Timeout.

BADEVO, the timeout is an alternative to banning. Instead of 4 warnings = ban, now 4 warnings = time out. Last I checked that's called a break, not a crackdown. 6 warnings now equals a ban. Second chances are usually considered benevolent. I don't know whether or not warnings fade over time yet though. Like I said we're still getting a feel for some of the kinks in the warning/timeout system. Please be patient with us for the time being. And again, this server is not a democracy. It's Mark's server. He put the time, sweat and blood into it. He made the rules, he brought the vendors, he gave gave all us members a place to post and discuss.

Addressing the Buschur Flash thread issue, well...it's a totally seperate one, but we're doing what we can to keep up. It occurs with some frequency that we do not feel comfortable making a decision on our own as staff members and feel the need to appeal to the highest court for sagely advice. When it comes down to this it often takes us significantly longer to respond to an issue (be it an individual post or an entire thread). I have not been around a whole lot as of late, but I did see the thread at its beginnings. My best guess would be that this is one of the threads we're looking for advice on (though I could very well be wrong). Anyway, if you'd like to discuss the Buschur Flash thread, we should probably do so in a new thread or private messages.

True, but keep in mind with out ALL OF US this would be a dormant server, so were just as important part of the process as anything else!

I'll PM u on all other concerns.

Unfortunately timeout doesn't allow to specifiy a timeframe, but there is a page to contact me to remove it over time. The purpose is really so that I can talk to the person in timeout personally and try and find out what happened and give another shot. I don't think outright banning was a great solution since it left holes for explaning things.

I was out of town during the Buschur thread and I'm trying to figure out what was going on.

Best bet as I always say is to report any posts right away and that can help speed up how fast we all respond. Once it gets out of control, it's really hard to figure things out and bring it back to normal.

Joel, you got my email, right?

Mark
