I too have noticed a decline in the quality around here.

Growing pains? For every x number of members there should be x number of moderators, right?? The rules by which moderators moderate dont change just the numbers should. I thought there was a thread listing all rules and regulations.

Growing pains are having to wait till the server traffic calms down to view new posts and stuff. BTW Thnx for being on top of the upgrade KK I cant wait to here its all said and done.

We're adding additional mods to cover more of the topics, etc. Over time, things will get better, but it's a lot harder to get one mod then it is to get an influx of members. Add to that the server upgrades, etc. Basically this stuff just came in like a tornado and we're working through things as fast as possible.

The vendor warnings has been fixed and shouldn't be an issue anymore. We do have some rules coming up that will also help keep content in line.

Another thing that would greatly help would be to have people report any flagrant posts. That sometimes helps get a mod to fix things a little bit sooner as we can check the email faster than scanning the forums.

No matter what, we're all talking and discussing more and more ways to improve things on the site. On the agenda:

1. Reduce flame wars / arguing.
2. Moderate vendor forums to our standards.
3. Fix private and vendor classifieds sections.

He explained most of it aside from specific policies. What exactly are you looking to know? I'll see what questions I can field.

What does "has been fixed mean" and what did he fix ?

Vendors cant warn, they cant mod ...what?

Moderate vendor forums to OUR standard means ??????

Are you going to HOLD ALL VENDORS to the same standard ?

Their permissions have been changed so that they cannot issue warnings.

Vendors can't warn (now), but can mod in their own forums. They have less power in their forum than a staff member.

The new vendor rules are, as I understand it, still being revised, but changes are being made regarding conduct. These aren't concrete yet, but I'm pretty sure everyone will see them posted in the vendor forums when they're done.

Yes.

You should probably do what he did and contact Mark. I hope you realize though that this isn't arbitrary, and the reason his warnings were removed was because Shiv is not staff. While he does have control over his own forum, I do not believe it was ever Mark's intent to have vendors with the ability to warn. Warnings will only be doled out by staff members as determined to be necessary.

Haha.. sweet man, thanks. I knew there would be no harm in protesting this decision by shiv, but i didn't expect all my warnings to be taken away. Anyway, i'm not complaining.

Good job.
