I was thinking...........that this site here is the one that they are using UNTIL they get the new one up and running?

This cant be the new site????? The old one was so so so GOOD. Made all the others look like crap,,, or should I say look like this one!

Tell me this isnt the new site. Bring back the old one at least. This is rotten.

And also I hope you didnt put too much time and effort doing this transfer. If so dont take what I just have said to hard.

Yup my mistake...thought this was that open source free PHP board (looks like it anyway). Sorry about that.

Hey guys.

It's natural for most people to reject change. But very few have outlined EXACTLY what they don't like.....just generalities.

Also keep in mind that this set up that you are seeing right now is Mark's first try to see if everything worked. It was only brought live a little while ago. Once he gets the technical glitches straightened out, he'll start adding back in the things you all knew and loved about the old site. Alot of those little details were custom hacks and modifications and not a part of the purchased site software.

Be patient.

SC~

Yea this new format sucks big time. I have to keep the internet screened maximized, and even then I still have to scroll either left or right. The old format was perfect and everything was right where it should have been! This sux!!

If Mark can make a template to look like the old board, then that is fine. I am not against change at all...just a serious step back as far as the UI goes (imo).

I don't know.. Seems a little overdone. Maybe some smaller icons and faunts. The old board was very nice and readable; also a little easier to understand. You may also want to put the "sign-in" link in a more visible location for members.

Just some thoughts. Glad you got it all back up and running without any major data loss! Good luck with getting a little cleaner. :-)

yeah this isnt doing much for me. the old layout was much smaller, more compact and less clunky. I understand mark is trying to do what is best but honestly it wasnt broke so why fix it? Hopefully he finds the magic happy place and gets this version setup alittle more user friendly.

Thanks anyways cause I do love all the support we get from the admins and mods.

Also, the information under the avatar was better before IMO. Plus the member status stuff is missing (newbie, evolving, etc.). That stuff about join date and number or posts is kinda useless.

Sorry, not really crabbing, just trying to get used to it and make some general suggestions. Keep up the good work!!

One thing I'd like to see implemented is, well, I dunno what it's called. But, say, for example, I am running 800 X 600 and someone posts a 1024 X 768 image then I have to scroll from left to right to see it. that's no problem, but it aligns all further posts to the edge of the initial picture so I have to scroll for each post. I know VBB has a feature where subsequent posts will be ligned to the edge of the window. Any chance we can get that turned on? Oh yeah, thread preview too .

To me it looks good. I would say navigation is improved. I like the larger thread page links. It also seems faster.

Inserting smilies from the "Reply to Thread" screen by clicking on them does not seem to be working however...

yeah it's natural to resist change but it's important to give an honest response, simply put it looks like WYSIWYG just had a bowel movement. Seriously it would have been nice to given us a bit of warning and if you did, I'm usually on here several times a day and heard nothing of the sort. The old set up ran wonderfully with minimalistic qualities, hmmm... kinda like my EVO!

Also, it looks like I get an e-mail for EVERY post in my subscribed threads instead of just a single e-mail until I check the thread again.

I'm lost. I had a routine, now I can't find things.
