The problem with allowing everyone to change names at will is Moderators and Admins are not as easily distinguishable. At a certain point enough people will know who everyone is and name changes will be ok, but for now I'd like to give it a little time. I may also look into hacking the forums to list a sub title moderator title under the profile so everyone can use the name changes and still be able to distinguish the mods and admins.

ah, for some reason I thought login and nickname were different things, if they were everyone could still see who it was by looking at the login name.

Anyway

KK, what do you mean? It says admin under your name.
What he means is people want to change the nickname. the nickname is UNDER your screen name. Like I think you guys' nickname says Evolving Member. Me and the other mods(with the exception of the **** btapper) have the nickname Moderator under ours. KK's says Admin... So therefore if people were to change their nickname whenever they pleased noone could tell who was a normal member and who is a moderator...
I think KK has a great idea:
I may also look into hacking the forums to list a sub title moderator title under the profile so everyone can use the name changes and still be able to distinguish the mods and admins.
That would solve the problem right there and every body would be happy ^_^ Hope that helped

I see what you guys are saying now. I don't think there's a nickname feature on these boards, although I may be able to hack one in. You can do custom titles, which is what I was thinking of, but I'd like to wait a while before allowing that.

The forums don't have this feature built in, but there may be a hack for it out there. I'll try and do a search and see what comes up.

Hmmmm even though it would be nice to change our titles under our screen names and STILL be distinguishable as mods....
