Personally, I see no reason to place a rule against individual threads. They are typically not a conversation between to people, rather a mulitude of people talking about a certain subject that could be in direct realtion to the person in the thread title. And honestly, if you are not a regular visitor in the Off Topic area, you have no real bearing on the things that are dicussed there. Granted, they may no be as important as whinning about the Evo's drivetrain or asking for the billinonth time what kind of wheels to throw onto your OZ. However, it nice to kick back in a relaxed area of the bored and post about random BS

I will make mention to a few OT regulars, however, I will not request that anything be changed in thier actions, unless otherwise told to by superiors.

J
I agree with Jeremy.. a lot of the guys in OT have been in there for a long time, and this is just thier place to chill on the internet, with the ability to bs on cars or anything thats happened in thier part of the world atm ( remember, not everyone is from the USA ! ) and it helps cultures to work out other cultures..

I'm sure you can reset your search option for the new threads somewhere, leaving OT and other parts like that out..

Pete.

Keep in mind this only affects your searches, not the new posts page.

Click 'Search' on the top toolbar then click 'Advanced Search.'

Yeah, I got that. But you actually have to search using words or a userid, unless I'm missing something.

It's funny how the 6 year olds on this forum think this is funny. It just confims my point about needing attention.

My two cents on the matter: it seems that a lot (possibly the majority) of these Attn: threads are "personal" correspondance threads, i.e., ones that seem to be meant to spill out into the public domain and draw people into the conversation (or often, the lack thereof). I think these are essentially OT Playgrounds, and essentially harmless. It's not like they take up the first 2 pages of OT Threads.
