Insurance premiums in Tx

Anyone had a rate increase for the Evo this year? Mine jumped around 400 bucks a year due to the Texas rating "symbol" that they use for the cars. A year ago it was rated a 10 (Lancer style) and now it is a 21 (Vette style). I think the highest is a 31. If you want to know what your premium is based on it will be in the contract. If it is a 10 then prepare for a bit more when you renew. Note that you can increase your deductable to 1000$ for a hell of a drop in rates and take defensive driving and some alcohol class as well.

hmmm I'm trying to find what mine will be (2004 Evo III)... My insurance company, e-surance, doesn't have the Vin's yet for the 2004 evo so I can't get a quote. Seh gave me a rough estimate of 1408$ for 6 mos which I could deal with....

but I just did a geico quote and they quoted me $2200 for 6 months... So I'm a little scared.

I'm 24 and have one speeding ticket on record that will come off in 2005. Anyone know what the premium should be?

Lets start a little state by state - risk by risk - provider run through and see what we come up with because I think insurance is usually thought of after buying the car.

I am 35, single, perfect driving record, and have a multiple car discount. My premiums are

Liability - bodily injury - 127 reduced from 154
Liability - property damage - 135 reduced from 156
Uninsured motorist - bodily injury - 54 up from 51
Uninsured motorist - Property damage - 28 up from 27
Personal injury - 35 same same
Comprehensive - other than collision - 124 up from 55 with a 500 deductable
Comprehensive - collision 392 up from 216 with a 500 deductable

The original numbers are without a multiple car discount. The second numbers are with one so the increase is actually greater than what appears there.

Note the decrease in liability and the increase in comprehensive. Quit F*&K*&G wrecking your evos guys.

I have an '02 Lancer OZ and it eats my lunch on insurance, mostly the Collision. It's about $400 more a year than my brand new Toyota Highlander. What I have been told (and believe since I used to work in the industry) is that the parts that typically come under repair in a collision are expensive for our car and their is a higher incidence of "totalling" involved with the small nature of the car.

not a bad premium mhutch... I'm 24 have one speeding ticket (soon to expire), single and live in Phoenix. I'm just confused as to what my premium will be with esurance. Their "rough: estimate was 1408 every sixth months. But like I said geico gave me a 2200 quote.

I'm over on the Vivd racing board as well and those guys have a huge range of differences intheir premiums.. Some are paying 600- 1000 every 6 months and some are paying close to 600 a month.

I guess it all depends on location, age, and driving record... Ohh yeah and car of course

Why on earth would you want to register your car as a Lancer with the isnurance company? Do you think they will give you the full value of an Evo if you have it registered as a Lancer should it be stolen or wrecked? That is called insurance fraud and, while you may get away with it, you will be in a whole world of hurt financially should something happen to the car.

I renewed my insurance last month and there was no increase for me or change in policy. I pay $620 for 6 months. I'm 34, married, clean record, and have 2 cars and the house insured with the same company. Other car's in wife's name though because she has tickets. My insurance should be a little cheaper but I have only held a US driver's licens for 4 years or so and they don't like that for some reason.

Alright, I'm 24 and single. I WAS with state farm until I got my EVO a month 1/2 ago. They wanted $1560 every 6 months, so I switched to Progressive who only wanted $960 every 6 months. Then, for no reason at all, they sent me a letter saying my premium had gone down and included a rebate check for $160!! So yeah, I think they screwed up somewhere because I'm only paying $800 every 6 months on a 2004 EVO. Works for me!!!
