Yeah - it got rear and front ended - damned SUV drivers! Honestly, I'd go for the MR, although the EVO doesn't really need a 6 speed, it does keep the engine on the boil and in the power band, plus ACD etc etc is nice

Where are you living at the moment?

I've heard a bit of negative press on the 6-speed, which kinda worries me. The 5-speed is supposed to be plenty tough. This is why I wanna hear more feedback on the MR.

I'm currently living in Moscow, Russia. I work in the US Embassy.

Yup - I think Vishnu had their One Lap car running around 560whp and they twisted a synchro, the clutch will definitely go before the gearbox. The only other issue is the transfer case, but again, 5k clutch drop launches don't help

Exciting stuff - I've got a crazy Russian friend in Moscow. Bet it's bloody cold over there...not like Dallas

Right now the weather is unseasonably warm. We've only been below freezing a few days and we're in the 40's right now.

for me, the absolute best thing about the evo is how it makes you into a much much better driver. with all of the components working in harmony, (quick steering, colossal brakes, superb throttle response and that glued-to-the road feeling), the car feels like a true extension of your body. car mags really hit the point when they said the evo's handling is so predictable, it's almost telepathic.

mechanically, everything feels strong and durable. even the clutch is fine. it might not be as strong as aftermarkets, but it gets the job done and works well with the drivetrain. the pedal feedback is excellent(especially the brakes) and its spacing is perfect for heel-toe movements.

make no mistake about it, the evo is a pure driver's car. it's too bad the exhilaration and fulfillment cannot be experienced on the same level by the passengers.

with that said. two ultra-minor gripes...pretty bad turn radius and poor interior lighting. i have a hard time reading the meters sometimes.

also wanted to add that nearing it's limits, the evo feels very stable and really adds confidence to your abilities. you'll find yourself working on certain corners in your neighborhood, pushing the car until you hear all four tires chirp in unison and feeling the blood rushing to the side of your head. man, im describing this car like it's coc@ine or something.

You really drive an Evo to its limits on the street? In residential areas?
