Tint and Alarm rec's in San An, TX

Hey all you San Antonio guys, I'm lookin to get my Apex Evo 8 tinted and want to put an alarm on her, especially since my previous car was broken into once and stolen once. Any suggestions? I've never tinted a car before so I'm clueless. Whats a good price? Whats a good darkness? And any suggestions on alarms? I've heard of some that have a TT as well? Any reviews on any of those? And most importantly, where to get it tinted? Its all about the Cust. Serv.

I got mine done at Mother's Window Tint on Fredricksburg. They charged me 199.99 for mine but had told me that if I sent someone else in that they would do it for 179.99. They did a great job. I went as dark as was allowed on the sides and darker on the back window and it looks very nice. If you want, you can say that I sent you over because they said that they would give you that price. My name is Tony Carretti and you can tell them that I have the white Evo RS that they did about a month ago. Hope that helps.

Tony

You'll probably here this alot, but make sure you get a metalic Film becuase the died films will soon fade in less than a year and give you that nice purple look.

If I was going to get tint right now, I would probably look for film mad by 3M
I think 120.00 is a good average.
I like to tint the rear window in 5% and then the other windows in 35% including the front winshield but thats alot of trouble, but worth it to me.

I think The Solaris by clifford and The Advant Gaurd 4 By Clifford are the best alarms on the market, their digital Impact and Proximity sensor are the most accurate and won't give you false alarms, but they are pricey.

If your just looking for a basic I would go for one of DEI's products I just got a Clifford RSX 3.5 la;kjsdf bla blah blah something or other. it has a paging system in the remote with led read out to let you know whats going on with the car.

unfortunally I havn't installed it yet and I don't think the Turbo timer portion works on it's own unless you activate it after exiting the car each time. If that's the case then that sux.

I got the metallic film and I believe that they will do it for the price that I told you. I don't think I'll get anything out of it, but if you can get the deal i'd be happy for you. You can always ask if they'll do anything for me anyway, but it's no biggie.

Good luck,

Tony

By the way, what color is your car and where did you get it?

Always nice to keep up with all the new EVO's in San Antonio.

Its Silver. Pretty Distinct. Bike rack, VII tails, and only "Evo" on the trunk. The bike rack makes it stand out a LOT. I got it at Metro Mitsu back in Aug... You?

Anyone know who drives the red one with the "Evolution V///" badge on the trunk?

For the tint definitely go to Mothers. I had mine tinted well.... 3 years ago now and it still looks brand new. They do a great job for the price. As for the car alarm go to Custom Sounds, they're the best in town for that kind of stuff. You can go to them for the tint too but they may be a little more pricey.

Btw - I saw two evos parked by each other at UTSA the other day. A yellow one and a silver one (or maybe it was white). Anyone know who they are? Are they on the boards?

Right on the money, tint at mothers, alarm at custom sounds. Can't go wrong. or Just buy an alarm for the house and lock it in the garage.
