Wondering the same thing here in Austin. The grocery stores are running out of supplies (most are out of water), lines are forming at the gas stations round the clock....it's pretty nuts.

I went and got gas during lunch...no line where I was.

I was gonna go get some water, but no biggie.

Just fill up some jugs at home with tap water...it doesn't need to be fresh spring water if it for survival. Not that Dallas will be bad at all.

Austin MIGHT be a little crazier, depending on the path, but it looks like we'll all be on the West-sIIede of the eye. Hopefully it will keep downgrading.

I just spent eight days in New Orleans four days after the storm went thru. Just a word of advise to everyone in Houston or on the coast of Texas "Leave". Staying will only make it more difficult for emergency people. They have to spend their time looking for you instead of repairing the city and getting things back to normal. If everyone would have left New Orleans like they were asked. No one would have died and emergency crews would not have been risking there lifes to save people. Let me tell you after touring the Super Dome and the surronding areas, there were quite a few bodies floating in the water. If you are going to stay then make sure you don't call for help when things go bad, because remember you asked for it...

Its a category 4 now, so maybe God will weaken its fury just a little more before it hits us and lets us take minimal damage.

Best of luck Phillip. After seeing some of the surge that galveston has had without the storm even being here, I worry about La Porte... Me and Sgplancer live right next to each other near (~2.25 miles) the coast. Hopefully it wont get too crazy.

my sister's fiance is a fireman in beaumont and has to stay through everything. also, if anyone in SA watches channel 5 news, the weatherman (Paul Mireles) has been sent down to the coast to report back on things. Just pray for both of their safety, if you could...

Jon is in Dallas already. His evo however is not. I feel better now that she has downgraded and turned a little more northward.

I'm from West houston. The wife and I boarded up the house, and took off to my parents in Beaumont, TX on Wedensday night. Thursday morning we boarded up their house and tired to leave, but all the freeways were parking lots. It cleared up a little friday morning. It took us about 12 hours to get to Oklahoma. We didn't find gas till Jacksonville, TX.
