Gilman Mitsu Sevice Dept-SA
I just wanted to let you guys know about my experience with their service department. I had a popping sound coming from the front of my car, so I took it to Gilman Mitsu in Schertz (near SA). Turns out it was just the aftermarket downpipe hitting against the TC. I talked to them about mods and warranties, and Louis (the service dept manager) was very honest. He said my exhaust (tbe) isn't a problem for them. I also have a Buschur deluxe FMIC, K&N drop-in, and Forge MBC. He was allright with these as well. He did say any time the regional rep was in and there was an EVO in the shop, that he would check out the car for mods. Louis is a really good guy who will help you as best as he can.
For little things it is not a big deal for them to warranty. The problem is when and if you have a motor, transfercase, or transmission problem the district rep will come and look at your car. If he or she see's any modifications they will void your warranty. That would include anything. If your car is stock they will look to see if you replaced parts. Like new bolts, missing gaskets, etc.
Watch out for dealerships. They will act buddy buddy until that fateful day of a warranty claim does come. I will say that Lonestar seems to be on top of the game as far as things like spoiler and caliper replacements go.
