Tires!
Tires!
So I got my IX MR back in June, and I've already got 13,500 miles on her, and my factory yokohama's are getting bare...
My budget is tight, and I cant swing the $220 per wheel price of the advans... but I'd like to get a longer lasting tire that still offers a reasonable level of grip. Its my daily driver and I talked to Lewisville Mitsu, and they mentioned these tires from Fusion that were similar to the advans's but priced around 120 to 150?...
I havnt seen you guys in a while but I will be at the next meet at Chilis!

I like the traction of the Advans but I hated the stiff side walls and the road noise and the worse is the tire ware rate. Definately more of a track tire then a daily driver tire. I was lucky enough to push 23K mi before replacing it with the Bridgestone RE 960 AS Pole Position. Really, really good tires. Great tracking in the dry, wet and snow (took my car when I went snowboarding last time). Much quieter and the wear rate is 400 compared to 140 of the advan (the higher the number means it'll last longer). Also the tires are guranteed for 40K mi.
Here's the link to the comparasion of the Bridgestone to the stock Advan on TireRack. I recommend this tire even if you don't live in an area that snows or rain a lot.
Also this topic has been discussed quite often so try search about the topic first next time.

I daily drive my 2005 Evo 8 and went thru the same thing over the summer. I ended up getting BF Goodrich G-Force Sports....I can't say how they hold up from personal experience cause I've not had them long, they seem to grip well, but they are no Advans, they look nice and aggressive, quieter and smoother ride. I got them from Costco and saved about $150 over Discount Tire, ended up being about $110 per tire for everything (tire, install, road hazard warranty, lifetime repair, etc)
Even if you don't have a Costco membership...if you want BF Goodrich or Michelin tires, you will save enough money on the tires to pay for your membership for a couple years.

There are many tires that you can get for your Evo that are better then Fuzions.
I had RT-615s on my Evo and they where good at everything. At Dallas MSR they held up lap after lap with no lose of grip. I had 15k miles on them with about 30% tread left when I sold my Evo.
I've also run KDWs and they where decent, but lasted about as long as the Falkens with less cornering grip. Rain traction was a tad better though.
