Jestr Tune @ Engine Logics 01/20/07 Results!!
why are you even in jestr's tuning thread? i decided not to post my dynograph of your old custom road tune vs his new dynotune i got last night but if you want to come in here and ask a bunch of questions and post dyno sheets of your own tweaked dyno which reads even higher than a dynojet then i'd be happy to publicly embarass you with the before and after results of your tune vs his tune.

He is just up to his normal crappy marketing tactics. I think he feels that at least one person reading this thread will think he is right and get flashed by him. He maybe on to something? Or better yet let him take their car on a custom tune joy ride and beat the **** out of it while he is eating a burger and driving at the same time with one knee.

Obviosuly, you guys have taken my comments in the wrong manner, thus i have redacted and removed them as it was not my attention to offend anyone.
Enjoy
Guys as long as YOUR happy with your tune it doesnt matter what anyone else thinks really. I dont see anyone out there posting to help make your car payments for you so dont let the little stuff like that get to you.
I'm just saying dont let other people drag down or change the positivity of this thread or your overall experience this weekend. One person posting in this thread almost turned it into another bash session....if your satisfied with your tune then be happy and shake of the hater(s).

I tend to stay out of the drama as Jestr does so I have nothing to say about the previous post even though I did read them before they were "redacted". All I'm here to do is give my review.
I got to meet Jestr on Friday when myself, dubbleugly, jestr, kee1pride and my wife had dinner. This was a good time for me to ask some questions and figure out if he was indeed the person I wanted tuning my car. For the most part I refuse to let anyone touch my car. I do all my own work because I just don't trust anyone. Frankly I was floored at how forthcoming jestr was with his methods and knowledge and his willingness to work with me and not shut me out. You can imagine what kind of technical questions come up when you have 3 engineers sitting at the same table. Jestr is really a genuine nice guy and I was really impressed. As we left I fell that I had made the right choice and that the 8.5 hour drive that I had made would be worth.
Saturday morning. It's nasty and cold (for Houston). I missed seeing Jestr work with InProgress' car but sat and watched him tune every other car that rolled onto the dyno. I stayed all day and not once did I hear him make a single remark about another tuner even though he had more than one chance. I also never heard him complain about what products each car was running. I recall one car having a boost controller that was improperly installed by an Austin shop and another car where Jestr had to setup the AVC-R properly. Even when he was working on things other than tuning Jestr was all smiles. Problems were laughed off and all the customers were kept in the loop of what was going on with their cars. I've honestly never met a tuner who conducted himself more professionally.... and I've been around DSM's and the 4G63 since back when David Buschur owned what is now John Shepherd's car. Jestr has been around the 4G that long as well.
Now onto my car and I'll keep it short and sweet. Jestr was patient enough to me to play around with my cam gears for a bit on the dyno and work with the tuning so that I could have the big flat torque curve that I wanted. I dont drag race, I just road race and Jestr was great in getting me where I wanted to be. He didnt even complain when my BOV wasnt holding boost and we had to back it off to 16 psi. We picked up 43whp peak and much more under the curve even at very low boost. As mentioned before the torque curve is big and flat and Jestr picked up 55 ft/lbs in some areas. The car is simply not the same in any aspect and I love it.
During the 8.5 hour drive home I had plenty of time to continue to assess the tune and the performance of the car. From AFR's to datalogging everything was spot on and the car was flawless. Jestr had mentioned that on the street the AFR's would be slightly richer than they were on this dyno. Again he was spot on. I cant wait to get back on the circuit with the new found power.
I can recommend Jestr's services to anyone knowing that he will treat them with the utmost respect while providing a great tune and helping the customer to understand what is happening with their car and why. I would gladly make the 17 hour round trip drive again to have Jestr tune my car.
It was great to get to meet everyone this weekend and I'm going to miss hanging out with you guys and gals. Slowcar, thanks for the insight on the water injection setup you are running and taking the time to talk with me about it. Bryce, thanks for setting this whole thing up and doing all the little things to make it happen. Sorry about asking so many questions about the old T51 car. Kee1pride thanks for finding us when we got lost.
Chris I enjoyed our lengthy discussion on camshaft selection and piston speed among other things. Moni and Ralph, thanks for dinner, the company and letting us see your car on the dyno. And finally Jestr. Thanks for all the time you put in over the weekend on all the cars and taking time to be away from your family to help us out. Thanks for dealing with my 7000 cam gear adjustments on the dyno. It was my pleasure to have met all of you.
