Man, I drove my car today for the first time in three weeks and the whine is so darn loud, it can be heard over the radio...

I'm dreading the day when mine goes out. I drove a car with a "band-aided transfer case" , and I do not look forward to experiencing that in my own car.

How much did the stage 2 TC set you back? Core charge?

Thanks

jeffs is going in right now, for $400 shipped, none of us have to go thru that. im going proactive, and getting mine done ASAP. if Shep will work with us, we can keep a core on the shelf ready to go.

Both Evo's I've owned have made that whining noise from the TC... Both with less than 20,000 miles and both with very little modding and NO launches!

Well the new transfer case went in lastnight. It came out in under 2 hours and was not that difficult to do. However we ran into a few snags getting it back in. When we droped the subframe my steering wheel disconnected from the imput shaft thing so we had to undo the subframe again and reattact it. that took an extra hour but other then that we didnt have many problems. while in there i put a new front motor mount in and the shifter bushings in the engine bay. the new t case got rid of the whinning noise and the car feels so much smoother. huge thanks to kevin for his help and for his girlfriend for letting me keep my car at her place for over a week. up next is a boost leak test and a kevin tune!!!

I'm going to do mine next weekend, the whine is so loud, the radio cannot drown it out.
