any suggestions on tires?
Had them on my eclipse and Hated them squirley as heck.. no wet traction at all, dry and hot they did alright but imo not a good trade off
my recommendation is Falken Ziex 512 245/45/17's great all around tire and has a
360 Treadwear (got 27,000 miles on them and going)
they have great wet/dry traction
yoko advans = 150 treadwear (10,000 miles rotated on a regular)
these have worked great for me as summer tires and even in the snow a few times..

The MX's are only good in the rain when they are new. That performance quickly diminishes and even new they aren't a tire I'd consider good in the rain. The only decent tire Nitto has out is there drag radial and their track tire, neither which makes a good daily driven tire and even worse of a rain tire.
if rain performance is a factor for you and dry grip, wear and cost. There is really only one selection. The Hankook RS-212. nearly %99 of the grip of the best street tires and a fraction of the cost. Some of the best rain tires on the market and they are cheap to boot.
I'd suggest the 245/40/17 or 245/45/17 for stock sized rims.
