Inspection/emission at ATX??

Hello guys..

I just got my Evo from PA...it has no cats just a muffler...how tough is it to get it to pass inspection when I register it at ATX?

In PA they dont look under the car if you dont have a check engine light( which I don't...thank you AEM EMS )...plus my car is considered emissions exempt in PA since its driven less than 5k miles a year.

So how is it in Texas in general or ATX? they couldnt be stricter than PA

Provided your OBDII shows not more-than one (I think) unready system, and no fault codes, it'll pass without issue.

Not the case, they will hook the computer up to your car and see nothing, because you're running AEM (trust me I went through this myself). They can't pass it. I had to pay someone 100 bucks, but my car was legit on paper. You'll probably need a legit inspection since your car is coming from out of state. You can probably get a sticker for less but it won't be legit.
pm me if you need help

This reminds me of a story...

Whenever I get a new inspection sticker I ask them to put the new one EXACTLY where the old one is.

Without fail, they remove the old one that is nicely tucked in the extreme lower corner, and slap the new one where they find it convenient (usually 2-3 inches higher).

So each year I have to take a razor with me, and right in the parking lot after they slap it on, I move it to where I want it.

Also, I have NEVER heard of a Texas cop try to read the writing on the rear of the sticker. Even if they did, I would imagine it might be smudged from window cleaner.

Yeah he tried to say I "broke traction" twice, I never went over 50. I was like sir, you know this is an all wheel drive car, right? He said if there was a car on either side of my he would have taken me to jail for wreckless driving because my tail was squirly (yeah ok). I don't know how he could see how "squirly" my car was when I left out the Mcdonalds side and theres bushes in between the road and starbucks where he was sitting. He let me off w/ a warning but I was sweating it for a hot minute, especially after my 111mph ticket on my bike.

I've got a buschur hi-flow cat, or a full stock system, you are welcome to borrow either of them.

Just for clarification... The cop stuck his head inside your car to read the back of the sticker?!
