Will a MBC help KevinD?

KevinD,

Should I buy a MBC to help out during my future tuning of my X by you? Or do you even need it?

from what i've been reading the stock boost control system for the X is sufficient. so no, don't need a mbc.

it look like it depends on the assembly you have... the JDM seems to hold more boost than the USDM one does.

I think they are still trying to figure all this stuff out

Good thing I only want to lean mine out and not touch the boost!

thats always smart, stock w/ exhaust and a tune is all you need. then some suspension and track time.

Goofy,

Not sure how exact/accurate the Cobbs Port is compared to what KevinD can do. Also the price is way more than a KevinD tune. But then again, I assume the software that Kevin will use hasn't come out yet so the question is; buy now or wait for KevinD's software? I vote wait. Plus I don't even have all my mods yet so until I get everything, I won't have KevinD tune it. (do it all in one shot)

I also noticed that the Cobb starts off with a stage 1, when will stage 2 come out and how much? Then a stage 3? And so on, each time I'm sure costing some coin. One or two KevinD tunes could possiby put you at the equivalent of the furture stages 3 or 4 from Cobb.

But of course this is all speculation. I wasn't able to attend the Cobb grand opening, but if I was, those would have been some of the questions I would have asked.

never settle for the cheaper, quicker, easy, etc. option IMO. wait for the kevind tune. ive seen him fix 3 cars in the last month that had detonated motors from shops and people whos names i will not mention. its very hard to find somebody you can trust to do work, and tuning is even worse.

with the current ecuflash you would probably need a new pill. probably kevind could make one. razorlab has done it and is selling those pill kits for the X. here is the link of his results. fyi he is already using ecuflash but its a beta release. not sure if kevind has a copy.
