DAMN! Sick deal! Buy that right away... if its got a factory warranty then your all good. Just drive that thing around for 2 years while under warranty and then resell it for like $24k

yeah...it's tempting, they want me to drop by today coz they already got me pre-approved and they want to appraise my evo...but i'm thinking twice about it. my evo's sitting peacefully in the parking lot right now not knowing it's demise...it's like stabbing my baby in the back
i dunno...i'm still thinking about it.

well I would want disclosure as to what the buy back was for. There was a guy that got a buy back because his car wouldn't really run right.
But in California, buy backs are decently easy to force (basically a buy back is less work and money than declaring a car a lemon, so the manufacturers are quicker to do it).
If it was for something simple then I think you'll be OK, but if the title is "damaged" in some way then I would avoid it.
In any case, this GSR has all the options, nav, SSS, interior sport kit, aero kit (body kit).

yeah...it's just tempting from how nice it looks on the pictures...but my credit's not so good and the monthly pmt's slightly higher than what my budget is. i'll just pass and pay off my evo and buy another one in the future.
I know they car runs good. I went and test drove it the other day. The sales man didn't know what the buy back was from. But he said he would look in to it. But I have decided to go back with a 8 or 9.

Now if you didn't have an Evo? X all the way.
I like the Evo 8 and 9 and I wasn't sure about the X being so different and all.. and I heard how slow it was, etc --- but after driving goofygrin's Evo X in autocross here are my thoughts --
1) I really like the way the brakes feel in the X in comparison to mine. I always feel like I really have to get on mine so hard and they have no feel in them. The Evo X's brakes didn't require as much pressure to engage and had a good feel about them. So points to the X on braking.
2) The Evo X, with an intake and turbo-back, has more power and is quite a bit faster on acceleration than my Evo 8 with an intake and cat-back. Mind you if I do a full turbo-back with tune I might be a touch quicker but once the X is tuned, it will probably be quicker again. Points to the X on acceleration.
3) Keep in mind I have stock suspension versus the X with coilovers and camber plates -- but the X felt so much more confident, sure footed, and planted. WE both had the exact same tire brand and width - 245mm Dunlop Z1s. My car felt loose and scary, the X felt solid and without a hint of getting weird. Perhaps with my upcoming suspension upgrades my 8 will feel similar so we shall see. In anycase, the X really felt glued down and very solid. Points to the X on confidence.
4) I like the refinements and apparent "steps up" in the appearance, feel, and percieved quality of the X's interior. Mind you, I like the interior of my 8 well enough, but the X's interior seems a bit more European - just a touch. Maybe it's just me. Points to the X on refinement.
Anyway - bottom line - I like the Evo X and do not in any way think it's a "dumbed down" version of its predecessors that many have made it out to be. Quite the contrary. The X is faster. (Unless you're talking about turbo swapped, high boost, drag racing -- which I am not).
I do not regret buying my 8 and really enjoy it. I'm sure with enough time and money it will be a heck of a great handling car (and my skills will improve likewise but that's another topic). But as goofy said -- if not already owning and Evo and --- if you can afford the higher tag of the X -- you can't go wrong.

Just talked to Michael Baum about this car and found out that you do get the full remaining factory warranty with this car. It was supposedly bought back because the original owner complained about his contract or something to Mitsu. He obviously wasn't happy with the deal and wanted out basically and Mitsu bought it back from him. Seems like a good deal if your in the market for one.
