I wanted to create this thread to gauge the interest from the Evo community to make an all out effort in starting a Texas Evo/DSM shootout. I feel the cars and enthusiasts are here and substantial enough to really make this a great event and possibly carry it on to an annual deal.

My idea is for it to happen in either June/July at the San Antonio Raceway depending on track availability. Next year if carried on it can happen in another Tx city's raceway.

I plan on inviting vendors to display their Evo/DSM products at the event. I have a few vendors that support the 4G community interested already. I have a few questions for ya'll.

-Which vendors would you like to see out there?

-What incentives would help motivate you to get out to the track and compete if the competition alone won't be enough? (cash, certificates, trophies,etc)

There will be the show and shine aspect of the show and the racing aspect for attendees to participate in. I'm seeing an AWD class, FWD class, each split up between street cars and drag race cars.

I'd really appreciate your feedback with ideas/suggestions/willingness to help coordinate the event.

-Whoever you could get really. I can't think of a vendor for evo parts that we wouldn't want out there...

-Screw trophies, cash would probably do the trick for those stubborn ones though. I'll come out regardless. This sounds like fun. I'm willing to contribute or help organize. Let me know if there's anything I can do...maybe I can rally all the Austin folks and get them out.

As Jorge knows, I will rally the DSM community! We have had a pretty good set of DSM meets over the last months and I'm ready to make this a statewide DSM and EVO thing that happens yearly and is sponsored. As always I will help in anyway.

also, as far as competition, are you talking about just drag, or could we do an autocross too? if you get ahold of some timing equipment

With this being the first event of its kind here...I honestly don't want to overfill the plate. I don't believe SAR has an Auto-X track, but I'll look into it..for now though..it'll be just show and shining, 1/4 mile drag racing.

I plan on asking Robispec if he'd like to be a part of the event, his participation would be awesome for the Auto-xer's/road racers I'm sure
