Im going to pick up some 275 55 tires just to add some height for this one....lol

NTEC: What happened to the old ways...
Doesn't anybody else find it funny that we all decided to get rid of most of these ideas discussed at Black eyed pea meet around August or september or so? and then we started having a much bigger NTEC showing, more members got involved etc etc. Is anybody else going to speak up about this? I've talked to several members about this and they all recall getting rid of the "organization" in NTEC. And those members told me of speaking with other members. I dont mind speaking up about this now if somebody could plese support me. As I recall NTEC became alot more relaxed, fun, and involved.
Ok the sticker discussion made sense and was fun. And now we have somebody getting stickers I have no complaints about that. But we dont need a "cruise committee" or a "meet committee" or anything of that sort.
I think the only thing that went wrong was Sean paying out of pocket for the BBQ he set up, but that simply could have been fixed by him saying, "hey, if you want to come please contribute X amount of dollars to help fund this hugantic meet, it would be greatly appreciated, and if not then dont eat my food."
Another thing is we had a Kincaids burger meet, more showed up than expected, but we had no cruise route because I said before hand "discuss this on your own during or after dinner and make a group decision on where to cruise to..." well, evidently nobody discussed it and we didnt go on a cruise until everybody had left.
The N in NTEC shouldnt stand for ****. Sorry if you're offended by that, it's not directed towards any particular people.
I dont know what else to say or how to explain the rest of this, but I would appreciate it if the others who agree and recall(theres lots of you, I know, we've spoken) would speak up that would help as well.

You want my honest opinion?
You're blowing things WAY out of proportion and frankly were kind of rude about it at the meet. The big push has been to get some more FORMAL structure to things happening whether it be a scheduled cruise day or meet day or even a committee to gather ideas for meets and cruises.
People got (and likely are still) very hung up on the money issue. I don't think that dues are appropriate and honestly I am NOT the one that keeps bringing up the picnic. I PURPOSELY didn't ask for people to contribute and I demurred whenever people offered me money (I accepted some money for the parking passes).
Listen. If you don't want to be involved, then don't be. You (and everyone else) have a lot of stuff going on. Some of us have to plan around things like family, track days, work, etc. and having a more structured schedule helps us to do that. Having someone or a group of people "in charge" helps keep the group moving forward (whatever that might mean).
All that said, I'll repeat what I forgot to say at the end of the BEP meet:
This crew rolls out -- consistently -- in huge numbers.
It's obvious that we all like to get together. Is it too much to ask that we do it with a bit of organization?

my opinion, some of us need a schedule.. and i dont think where being anywhere near ***** about it... we just discused a schedule. when friends ask me "what are you doing Tuesday night?" now i can say probably going to an evo meet, instead of making prior commitments even if we would rather go to a meet.
however they did clearly state, if you want to do something, speak up and get it organized. just like normal..
however i really dont agree on a monthly due. i would rather give my money as a gift, as opposed to not paying my "dues" i dont need anything else on top of my montly payments. i do understand that the website cost money, but how often do we use it? and didnt someone say its on google apps so its free?
as far as money goes, i think if we want to set up something like the picnic, im glad we have a leader like sean to organize it, however we should be asked to pay for things like that, because we kind of where a bunch of free loaders at the picnic and poor sean had to pay for most of it.
i like that were open, and organized. not sloppy and "hey anyone bored tonight? lets get a meet together!" that stuff is annoying because sometimes id like to go, but i cant because i promised katie id go see a movie or something.

I may be speaking out of turn because I didn't make it to the meet this Saturday and I'm not really an official member so I'm sure I missed something.
But when you have a group or organization where people get together, someone has to organize it and make the plans or you end up with no direction at all on anything -- and it's all a big cluster.
I'm guessing you're saying the last meet was no fun? Sometimes it's hard work to plan out the fun. But once the hard work and planning is done, now you just follow the schedule and have a good time.

sean, im sure your response is the direction the rest of the posts will go....
as well as gtfo chad, which is obvious. nobody else would post about this, and a certain somebody whos probably been a member for longer than anybody else here suggested i post this. and the **** thing was a joke.
also, sean, i mentioned the picnic because you mentioned it during the meeting that you payed alot out of pocket and looked pretty upset,i was saying that in your favor and did suggest SOME organization is necessary, but not a "committee."
also. I thought it was all very clear, if you own/owned an Evo down here, just post up or show up that makes you a member enough. everybody's welcome. For all i know track days have always been planned and scheduled.

Im a supporter of the "organization" side of things. Just because there is a committee doesnt change anything IMO, the only thing it does is help to get more events going, and get the word out. I dont go to a lot of the events, but I go when I can, and I get what I want out of the club with or without a "dictator" It not like a college frat or anything, there isnt mandatory dress code, and BS rules that you have to do so many community hours, wear blue and pink polka-dot shirt on tuesdays.... the spirt of organization is to keep people involved and spread the word.
I dont know about you, but I can remember many days wasted by the conversation... we should do something... what are we going to do... I donno call people... crap no one can come.... well I guess Ill do nothing crap! Orgainzation stops those conversations..... The picnic was up for over a month... this meet was up for over a month, both planned, and both events were successful and had a bigger turn out then the majority of events we have had.
Im even a supporter of yearly dues, come on, we are talking about $10 a year! get water to drink 3 times at a restaurant and you paid for your yearly dues to NTEC. If it helps things like track days and events like the picnic, man Id pay $50 a year for it!
I might be wrong, but I dont see a little organization as bad thing.......after all its still a VOLUNTEER thing!

and justin asked everyone that question... what qualifies you to become a member. it is the north texas EVO club. not the north texas MITSU club, or CAR club. justin also clearly asked, if you bring friends that dont have an evo, please dont park with us... to some of us who like photography, an integra in the middle of a bunch of evos would throw everything off.
and i kind of agree about the "board" thing, but that has alot to do with the monthly dues thing. we just need leaders like sean, justin, and JJ who step up and like to try and turn a scramble into a car meet.

Since becoming a member of NTAG and MB car clubs I have come to appreciate structure and organization. At the same time there is nothing wrong with improptu meets/drives whatever. However with leadership our car club can grow and perhaps we can even contribute to the community. Contributing doesnt mean paying speeding tickets. just my .02 and i could be wrong.
BUT I have to commend DEVO, he is ALWAYS the first to start the list!! hahahaWAY TO GO DEVO!!
Sorry just had to throw it in there.
