Hey guys,
hope all are well... my Evo finally arrived in Dubai (United Arab Emirates) after a long 3 month wait -- we loaded it into a container truck back in Nov 2008, and after sailing across the oceans, it came out of the container in one piece - no scratches!!

believe it or not, after 3 months in a container, it fired right up! and boy is it fast... shown a few local vette boys how serious of a machine this thing really is. after local registration & inspection, my intake and exhaust mods went back on this weekend. the front cf lip is back on, and it clears the speed breakers (bumps) on local streets nicely. the highway system is quite good, with pockets of speed cameras... however I was able to easily manage 150+ mph on a short burst without issues.

hope all is well in our home town of df-dub. Kevin D.. I''ll be needing ur tuning help soon... need more hp before I get smacked by a 911 turbo or GT-R (plenty of those here).

getting the car registered and inspected.. they check brakes, emissions, shocks, brakes, visibly look for mods, before they give you the plates. Title, Inspection, Reggistration and Plates are all available at one location - very streamlined I must say.

 

My new friends at Evolve.ae (think Dubai's EvoM) were representing the club at Dubai Autodrome Raceway's regular raceday weekends. That weekend, Autodrome had Regional Touring Cars, Nascar type and Open wheel type racing.

The Evolvers were very welcoming and I got a VIP pass to join the group in the paddocks area. Posting some pics from the event.. my apex silver is last on the left row... damn sandstorm made everyone's ride dirty that day!

 

So the autodrome is a pretty big (and professionally setup) track. I'm driving it on the 18th of March... "Track Evening" with the Evo (as the days are too freakin' hot). They'll be running the *club circuit* which is about 1.8 miles... (see picture of one turn)... should be fun, but I need "R" comp wheel and tires now... anyone open to shipping international I'll pay the cost.

American Muscle is popular here... the locals like the Mustangs and Vettes for sure... they had a few dedicated show car sections. 350Zs (F&F types) were also here... with the trick lambo doors and all.

So the moral of this post:

Motorheads are EVERY where in this world... that's a common language besides english anyone can relate to!!

you should definitely try the Formula Open Wheel car at the Autodrome. It's like nothing you will ever drive again!
