I still have my evo 8 front license plate bracket lying around. I can mail it to you if you Paypal me let's say $20 for the effort to box it and drop it off at the post office.

But, putting the license plate in the window is like a big warning flag and very noticeable, I would not do it. Just keep it in your trunk or at home.

None of my cars have had front license plates and it has never been a problem.

I've done a lot of research into the texas law regarding car things, and the law only states that license plates has to be visible "as a vehicle approaches and leaves a stationary location". Meaning of course one in the back, and one in the front It doesn't specify where the 'front of the vehicle' technically is (whether it be mounted on the bumper or on the dash). There used to be a law saying that there can't be something obstructing the license plate in any way (i.e. windshield if it's on your dash) but they recently eliminated that law but i'm sure some cops still have it in their minds.
If you wanna avoid the hassle, just mount it on your bumper, or if you do get a ticket do what red evo 8 said and just zip tie it to show the judge.

I actually got pulled over on George Bush about a week ago for no front plate. Nevermind that I was cruising in the right hand lane at the speed limit and there were people with no front plates AND speeding past me in the left lanes.

What blew me away was the cop actually told me to put my plate in my front windshield as a temporary until I get a permanent way to mount it on the front bumper. I told him hell no I wasn't going to have a license plate in my front windshield. I would rather get pulled over than risk getting in some type of accident and have a stupid license plate cut mine or a friend/passenger's head off. Even if it didn't decapitate a person, I personally don't feel like knowing what the sharp edge of a plate feels like against my head and I will not put a passenger of mine at risk like that. I just think a plate in the windshield is about the stupidest thing....ok, 1 of many stupid things, a person can do and I was absolutely floored when the police officer actually TOLD me to put it there, albeit as a temporary solution.

I still don't know what all the absolute laws are and such regarding them, but I'm really beyond caring. The only reason I get pulled over is because of the way my car looks and sounds and the cops assume that there is going to be some young punk driving it and well damn then that means there HAS to be drugs around! I bet they are surprised 9 times outta 10 to find an early 30's female driving the car And its always the same thing lately....license plate. I actually also had a Plano cop who pulled me over about a month ago for the same thing tell me he only did so because supposedly there has been a rash of plate stealing from people's front bumpers to use on stolen cars....first time I had heard that one. Could be true, but who knows....

Anyway...sorry, done ranting about stupid license plates now

I have a 95 eclipse gsx running 25 psi with stock rods and pistons. It has about 430 hp at the flywheel. About how much nitrous would be safe to run.

Don't have the links anymore, but Texas law is "...front of car...", and traffic court case law says front of car is the "...front bumper...".

I've run front plateless since before some of you guys were born... been actually stopped for no front plate 2-3 times ever. Of course they are usually baffled when they see me in the car and not some young kid. I tell them there was no provision for a front plate when I bought the car (cause I told the $tealership I'd not pay for the car if they drilled the bumper ) I've gotten warnings... TDPS does not play, but was cool with the "no provision" thing when he went to the front of the car and looked.

The velcro with 3m backing works great. I actually used it with the oem bracket, instead of drilling i used 3 pieces where the screws go into the bumper and done. Only downfall is when the weather gets really hot and humid it seems as if the adhesive feels a bit weak. Pretty much use it at your own discretion.

It sucks getting pulled over, I have been stoped 3x in the one month that I have owned my car. Now of course, the base commander is the source of most of my issues, he requires you plate to be mounted on the front bumper...I said screw it, I am changing my plates to MI or VA. Too bad a lot of you guys don't have that option! I refuse to drill holes in my bumper, I'll pay the ticket every time...

Ok Texas law states u need a front and rear license plate. It cannot be suction to the windshield because of safety reason.

Darn I'm driving down to texas in 2 weeks. I guess I need to zip tie or stick 3m tape.
I got pulled over twice in same day(30 min difference)
They both gave me warning because I'm in military.
One cop even asked me to race him =]
