Wonder if one of these crazy sticker making guys can do a copy of your front plate that also REFLECTS like a front plate. I've seen the reflective vinyl (reflect so not to be pulled over at night like I was once). Don't know if you'd get in trouble for a "counterfeit" plate, but I'd volunteer as a test monkey. Can't see their being too great and issue as you'd not have a plate number you are not supposed to, and still have your original rear plate. I'd roll this way as my biggest reason for not running one is aerodynamics, and I don't want to drill the bumper.

Put your front plate on in the center with two sided tape, (where it is on the plane jane Lancer) and take digital photo of it. Save the photo for court. Remove the plate. Don't worry about dating the photo, but if your digital camera does date it, make sure the date is set to AFTER you got the ticket.

Be sure to touch the tape to your leg to de-sticky it, so it doesnt damage your paint.

I have not run a front plate since 1995 on anything.
I have gotten pulled over for plates twice. Ever. Once I told the officer, "thanks, I didnt notice it missing." and he let me off, and the other time the photo worked for court.

Texas law states the plate needs to be visible in the front (like someone said earlier) but it doesn't say where. If you ever get pulled over and have the literature with you, the cop/state trooper will think you're just trying to defy the law. I put on my front plate whenever I travel from Dallas-Austin-Houston but take it off when I'm in town cause cops have better things to do like raid starbucks or something.
