Just got pulled over TX

Well, I just got pulled over on my way home from work for my license plate being in the windshield....again. I was wondering if anyone knows the law regarding that in Texas. Also, if anyone knows where I can get the bracket so I can mount it on the bumper if I chose. Im tired of being harassed for stupid s***.

And for the record the title was supposed to be "Just got* pulled over again"

not sure bout any law, but i got pulled over for it too. I asked a cop from my town and he said the plate could be placed on the windshield. The neighboring city a few miles from my home where I got pulled over said I did, paid the $150 fine, and watched me put the plate back on. I guess it just depends on the city...

Not 100% positive, but i'm pretty sure every state has it written somewhere that the plate(s) have to be "attached" outside the vehicle.

Also just browsing TX dmv, you can't even have frames around or license plate. Nothing that covers information on the plate or changes the colors or anything. So i could see how they could be picky about it being in the window too.

yeah Im not sure either. The first time it happened I asked my buddy, whom is a cop, and he said it was ok as long as they could see it. I have also been pulled over for having a bracket over the rear plate. It did not cover the characters or anything. I dont want to put holes in my bumper. They trooper asked if i was goin to get it taken care of and I said Ill see. heh.

I've never been pulled over for it.

However I have recieved a warning for it while pulled over for something else.

I hate the look of a front plate on a Evo...not to mention having to install that bracket on your bumper.

Luckily cops aren't dicks about it around here *knocks on wood*

Yeah, they have never cared in Austin. But I have been working in this small town of Hallettsville, TX and they pull me over for anything and everything they can. I even got searched and I asked the officer why and he said "because this looks like a drug dealers car". So, I guess all of us in this wonderful evo community are drug dealers. lmao.

zip tie it to the lower side vent in the bumper...or velcro it to the bumper with a velcro that has a 3m tape backing
