Tming Belt Change

I called the dealership in Houston at Gillman and they are charging around 500.00 to change the timing belt. I am around 58000 so it is coming up. Would you trust taking it to anyone else to change the timing belt or should I bit the bullet and just have the dealership do it?

Thanks.

Is this for a Lancer? My cousin is a Honda tech and has done my 97 Mirage a few times. It should be pretty similar. I've also had it done by a mechanic off of 610 near Shepherd. He is reasonable on price as well. Let me know if you want to see if my cousin has time or if you want the mechanic's number.

I just went through and did mine while swapping parts the hardest thing about doing it is getting the plastic shrouds off to get to it all but it's very simple if you want pm me and i can walk you through it via pm and you can decide if your up to it. should only take like two hours if your mechanically incline.
