Evo Rebates

maybe my Boss thinks all the Internet traffic on my computer about "Evolution" is some christian thing, it is becoming religious, but i am keenly aware of the Evos for sale here in Texas. i called Gillman Mitsu today and they said they are offering $1500 rebate. good time to jump in...just scared the water's frigid.

on a local note, they have slowly moved out 5 cars over the last few months and are still sitting on 12 or so. i wonder if any new owners are on up..?

Wow, sitting on 12. I think MP5 told me they had 18. Either way it's a lot. Any idea what the other two dealers in town have? I saw a red and two yellow at Town North the other day when I was buying an oil filter. Those were just the ones in the showroom/out front, there may have been more elsewhere. And I haven't been back to Barrett in a lonnnnnng time (and don't plan on going back if I can help it).

I knew I should've waited, and predicted this would be the case... but I couldn't resist the impulse buy earlier this year. No regrets though.

I bought my evo in July with a roof and wing and got it for 28,000 I have even heard people getting a better price now, I bet you could do 27,500 because they have to pay to have the cars sitting there. If you can wait till the 2004 maybe 27,000 even?

I got mine (roof and wing) for 32,500 in March with the Pit Pass. Sold back the Pit Pass for 2,500. So I wound up getting mine for 30k. Not too bad for back then... they got their money in my trade anyways.

AustinTX: I have a hard time believing 1500 off invoice. Invoice is a little over 2k under MSRP, so maybe it's $1500 rebate for some, invoice for others, etc. If it's $1500 under invoice, that'd be badass. Maybe I'd have to buy another one.

rebates

yeah, iodine, that's what i want , Two of 'em...
well i'm to go 'talk' to a salesman tomorrow, all i've asked is to take my Montero in trade and give me $450 a month with $1500-2000 down. i figure, depending on the loan rate, that is probably in the invoice -1500 range. trouble is the car i want is the small wing, does anyone know if the CF wing, as an ordered part, comes painted (the supports), or not?

chris: You can supposedly order them in various colors from mitsubishparts.net:

http://www.mitsubishiparts.net/catalog/?section=88

Then again it's said that white is available and the rest are coming "soon" for like the last 6 months I've been checking that site.

Good luck working with the salesman. Try to stick it to them... tell them you have a good rate with a credit union or something. I told Barrett I could get 4% with Austin Telco, which was true, and they went and got me 4.25% at Austin Area Teacher's Credit Union and then gave me a discount equal to the amount of the extra interest. Then I just refi'd with Telco at 4%.

They went through all of that beacuse they wanted to get their money as soon as possible, and getting the loan through Telco was taking too long for them (I wasn't pre-approved with Telco).

Right now you can get 3.7% on new cars with Telco. 3.99% with Teacher's. I know that Telco's main requirement is 10% down, though, which may be hard to come up with.

And don't let them push you into a 6 year loan. That's an awful long time to pay for any car, even an Evo.

If you do get one, be sure to post pics! What color were you looking for?
