Yeah both of us are OG evo guys! theres so many new people around here I figured it would be nice to put cars to screen names. I seriously considered buying a ww evo x mr but ended up going to the dark side and went Subaru instead.
[QUOTE=nmtevo;10841993]I'm on the X forum more often than this but here's my lightly modded Cam tuned X. You may occasionally see me in ABQ or down south near Socorro when I'm not dropping the trans after ruining a clutch..
Do you know of a shop where we can do clutch swaps? Anywhere with a lift? All I would know of is the AF base in ABQ or Holloman..

I usually do mine in the driveway like all the other broke college students. If you're looking for a shop that will let you do it yourself I have no idea, but I know BLVD automotive has done at least one evo IX MR clutch with good results and Billy is a good guy.
On a side note I'm going into ABQ today to check out a possible trade for my 08 R1. Cars I'm looking come as a 2 for 1 deal for an S13 240sx on coils with te37 reps + an 89 turbo 2 FC rx7 white, caged, v mount, coils, hydro e-brake + cash. Anyone know the RX7 or the owner of both. Only going through with the trade if the RX7 is in good condition.

@ Ghostdriver: Boost Inc. can do a clutch for your car if you need it done as well. Harrison is a stand up guy, does great work, and won't rip you off.
Not sure about the cars without some more details/pics. On a side note, I saw your car in Socorro on Saturday night on my way back from Las Cruces... you were going up and down the main street there. Not much else to do in Socorro on a Saturday night huh?
Well the rx7 didn't workout it was stripped and ran good but wasn't good enough to ditch the bike for, if i had cash probably would have picked it up as a project just can't justify trading the bike.
@ obtevo
I think I was actually just making a lottaburger run. If I had been doing "the soco loop" the correct way is to go through sonic instead of just U-turning. Yeah Socorro isn't much more than a gas stop that happens to have a college and a walmart.

There used to be a shop off of San Mateo and Central right next to the fair grounds that you could rent the lifts by the hour. I haven't heard about the shop in quite some time so I'm not sure if its still in business, but it might be worth looking into. If I can recall the name of it I'll PM you.
I did a clutch on my old 03 evo on jack stands. Biggest PITA ever.

Thank you all for the advice!! The last swap I did was in the auto hobby shop at HAFB and it took about 4 hours just to seperate the pressure plate from the trani because the previous owner put a cheapo "Stage 3 F1" clutch in it and the retaining clip just bent when I went into it with a flat blade screwdriver....fml.
Thanks again!

If you're looking for a reputable shop to do it for you, if recommend Boost Inc or BLVD Automotive. Both are in Albuquerque and the owners know their way around evos and subarus.
