C5 road course challenge in DFW

I'm looking for a good/experienced driver in the DFW area willing to
challenge my friend's C5 Vette. He has a few bolt-ons and traps around
114-115ish. His car is equipped with the Z51 suspension, 4.10 gears, Z06 rims with "R compound" tires. He is a pretty good driver and is convinced that there is no way an Evo can hang on a road course with him. Matter of fact he told
me that he would pay anyone that could stay in front of him for a 20-30 minute session or show they are consistently faster at MSR a $100.00 in cash..

Here are some of his quotes:

The Evo is in a lower class in SCCA autocross/solo racing than the Z06.
It is not in the same league, sorry to burst your riceboy bubble.

Rick, you would get KILLED. I challenge anyone on the Evo forums to
take me at an upcoming MSR event. It won't happen and I have $100 on
it.

Your problem is 19-21psi isn't enough to win races, so if you crank the
boost, you'll blow up.

That Vette is going to run pretty hard on the avg. lightly modded EVO on a straightaway and may be about equal around the corners. You're going to have to find an EVO with more than 400 WHP and a good driver to hang.

If you are asking a question to individuals who live in a specific geographical locat, you should be posting in a Regional forum.

Moving to South Regional forum...

My car traps 111ish and he pulls me by 2-3 cars through 3-4 gears, but I'm guessing an Evo with 330-350 could hang. The Vette has 330-335 to the wheels at roughly the same weight...

Next time he calls you a riceboy, remind him that his interior is worse than a Cavalier

why dont we pick a car that is acctually in the z06 catagory, hmmm lets think oh yea i got a few buddies with supras who would probably come out and run.

it sure is a shame that the best chevy has to offer has to pick on a four-bagger, but hell you have to pick a car with half the cylinders cause anything with a bigger engine thats japanese would easily give it a run for its money.

hey i think the porsche guys would take you up on your offer, but of course 100 dollars is coke machine money to those guys!!

The whole point is, xstang, thinks the Evo is in Z06 territory. I respectfully disagree.

The Supra would get smoked on a roadcourse, the modified Supras have powerbands that are too powerful and peaky to do them much benefit on a roadcourse.
