Basically, it all comes down to what you are looking to get out of your experience.
Flying a Union flag? You'd probably be more apt to getting your *** kicked if you flew a confederate one. Just wait until you get there, put aside your ignorant misconceptions, and then comment. I'm sure it will be different from Ca, but that's a good thing.
Oh and BTW, I love grits lol.
Hmmm... not sure why so many people are making fun of Ga's Evo community/scene...
The top 3 records for most power on a stock turbo Evo8 were created right here in Ga. BatlGround held the #1 title and TopSpeed the #2 title... both have dyno graphs and posts on this forum... and both have now upgraded their turbos. I also hold the most power on a DynoFlashed (or maybe reflashed in general) ecu, stock turbo, pump gas record and I live in Ga.
We also have the Evo-GA // Evo-SE club. Once a month, we all get together and goto events like the dragstrip, auto-x, etc. Check in the SouthEast sub-forum for more info.
Depending on where you're going to be staying will depend on how your car is looked at. Hope to see you at a meet sometime. ^.^

Ahh, gotcha. Heh, the whole "the south is a 3rd world country" gets to me from time to time
For some reason when I'm visiting the NorthEast or out West and new people ask where I'm from, they are blown away when I say Ga/Al. Apparently if you are born and raised in any of the extreme southern states you are not supposed to have a thorough grasp of the english language, have graduated highschool, or have an IQ over 80. I've also actually been asked if anybody rode animals or tractors to school and if all of us really like rocking chairs and sweet potato pie. I'm not kidding. Sounds like the ignorance lies elsewhere, eh
And yes, Grits are the BOMB if done right (which is very, very rare).

We were not making fun of you, actually just wanted to draw some GA EVO owners out to find out what is it like. yes we clown arround at work, we have automated calibration programs running and like to post during the day. we are actually working.
So does this mean that we will be invited out to the club meetings? I am sure you will have some California jokes ready for us!

lol we got better road and better drivers here in GA. don't you californians know that all good drivers come from the south?!
better move to GA, before Cali rips itself out of the US. lol
Only thing that CA and GA's got in common is the traffic.
By the way, Check out the EVO GA///SE forum. Will officially open in 2 weeks.

there are some fantastic mountains we go running on weekends, as well as dragon in TN.
There are some sick import scene in Atlanta. Almost something out of a movie, but better.
cops are horrible in atlanta, laws are fairely strict, but not as in Cali.
There are great tuner shops here, as well as Nopi headquarter. There are constantly an event going on in GA and we have more than 50 evo owners in GA.
We have at least 85 from my account of meeting owners.
Albany is quiet, secluded, and if you go there, you'll like it. Not many people to bug you about your car.

The south is different, not bad, but different. I grew up near Seattle and every once in a while I have a “southern moment”. The Evo community seems pretty friendly and I’m sure you will be welcome at the get togethers. On the plus side, taxes should be lower, you are basically splitting the difference between Sebring and Road Atlanta, and Roebling Road is pretty close to where you will be and they seem to have track days going on all the time.
As far as Hooters in GA, they are based here. Ask for the Daytona wings or shrimp. Their great.
Best wishes and welcome,
F86sabre

Eh, point out the better drivers to me. lol I can't seem to find one!
The south is great, it's all about the southern hospitality(sp?). The slow drivers are always on the far left lane and people don't seem to know what "keep moving" means.
Georgia is nothing like the way your saying it is zmeli. In Atlanta you would be surprised on all the imports and the surrounding cities. It's mostly when you go to the boonies as we call it when ya get the real rednecks, lifted trucks, and people looking at your ride like WTF is that. Even going to the mountains and stuff is fun, but nah tuning is very popular in Atlanta and especially S. Florida, so bring your western **** over here and play w/ us eastside boyz ya heard lol.
