For about 20 minutes.
Bobby said it lost well over a quart of oil, all through the exhaust, he is thinking the metal that was in the pan might of gone through the turbo and destroyed the turbo.
If thats the case i'm going to

My car is off jackstands and on the road again! Hallelujah!
I had a turbo self-destruct on me Oct. 26 of last year. I drove it further than I should have after it began to make noise. The last 15 miles or so I was laying down a smokescreen worthy of James Bond.
The turbo was replaced under warranty and it finally arrived this Wednesday. After fighting with stripped studs and other assorted problems an ace mechanic winged his way northward to Monkeys Corner and installed the turbo for me last night. Thanks Dennis!
I finished up the detail work this evening. I thought I had cleaned out all the oil from the intercooler and pipes but when I went for my 1st test drive the car laid down some humongous clouds of blue smoke. The car felt great but every time I spooled up the turbo the smoke would appear. I feared the worst but on the return leg of the trip the smoke gradually disappeared.
Good Golly Miss Molly is it good to be driving my Evo again!

Factory turbo? It took that long to get in? I had a brand new one sitting in the garage for about 1.5 years, before I put it on my car for about 300 miles then traded away
I'll do my level best to actually make it to one of these things this time. I'm taking the car to Showzone this Sat to set the boost levels on my new BR dual-stage MBC. That way I'll be able to switch from 24psi to 32psi at the flick of a switch.
