I might consider going this year, just not sure since we have another vacation right around that one. How much is the hotel per night?

Depends on where you stay. Norwalk is where most people stay. Sandusky is a little farther out but nothing outrageous. Typical prices at the BW and America's Best or whatever the thing is called were about $60-$70 something a night if I believe. 3 days was 2 something last year, but we split it three ways so it was cool. Or you can stay where David stayed a couple years back...$40 something a night!

Has anyone decided where they are going to stay at? I have people on another board I am on wanting to know where I'm staying, but I'm trying to wait on yall to decide. LOL

 

I just called Best Western & the Best Value/Ameirhost or whatever and they must have gotten hip to the Shootout because the prices were the highest they've been yet. $149 for Friday, $189 for Saturday. I guess if you're splitting it, that's not so bad, and I didn't chk any of the travel sites...

Yeah there are more hotels in Sandusky. I can't remember what we paid last year but I don't remember it being that high. There were 3 of us in a room though so it didn't cost that much. I haven't been to any of the online travel sites yet to verify any cheaper hotels. Sandusky isn't that far away and there's more restaurants, stores, etc. on that end anyway.

Probably so... My friend that lived in OH said there is an amusement park near there.... Might be interesting... I am trying to wait and see where everyone else might be staying, but this is more along my budget... LOL

he is probably talking of cedar point! that place is insane!!! one of the worlds quickest/tallest rollercoasters!

 

Yeah it is Cedar Point.... I have gone to Orbitz.com and found a Microtel Inn that is 15 miles from the track for $194.12 for the weekend. I am tired of looking for hotels, and this is the best price that I have found by far, so this is where we are going to be staying.
