I'm in australia and have a lancer VRX (or an OZ where you guy's are) I'm Learning a few things about modding at the moment.....

Anyway Just thought I would introduce myself

I might Be headed down to tampa at the end of the year so might see if you guy's would be interested in a meet and showing me your beasts!

how have you guys found regulations like over there when it comes to mods such as turbocharging? Over here they are pretty strict if it's not "standard".

As for modding here in fl you can do almost whatever you want since there is not any required emissions testing.....dont ask dont tell, and dont get caught...but it doesnt make it right or legal/

 

Ohh I see.. Yeah basically if your car has an exhaust here you basically just bring attention to yourself ... then the cops pull you over and check if your mods are ok... as far as putting in a turbo, I'm pretty sure if they catch ya and it's not stock... you get defected..

Well loud exhaust s will get you pulled over and if the cop wants to be a dick he can write you a ticket tooo but its really not that bad unless yourt asking for trouble.....


Ive never had a problem and nevere had a cop check under the hood.......and ive been pulled over more times than i can count.

 

Cops don't look under the hood. FL isn't cali.

As long as your exhaust noise doesn't annoy the hell out of a cop having a bad day, you're fine.

As for a meet, it hard to get organized. Everyone drops in and off the face of the earth.

I've been told Iwill be spending most of my time in pt Ritchy. The family I have over there say they see all sorts of lancer OZ's around the place.. Nice to hear. Where I am at the moment I have like the only OZ in the area... so It would be cool to see what you guy's have done to your machines.

its still in the turbo works and yes its still running how abou t the sr20det project david?

 

my car is still handicapped by little knick-knack. Just bought a set of 4 tires and new headlight, hate being a cyclop.

It will take time, still cobbling parts. You can see my turbo (need rebuild) upgrade from the stock SR20 turbo9can;t take boost beyond 13 or spin itself apart)

 

david do u have a good t25 around that i can have or buy....my 14b took a **** and when we gonna see new pics in ur profile of the new beast!!!

 

my buddy with that red s14 still is using the stock t25 on his sr motor and pushed 15 psi and dyno last weekend at 279hp and 310 torque!!!! WooooT and this is the stock sr20det block and turbo mind u!

 

I don't have a T-25. You can probably find one amongst the local DSM chapter . . . the 2g guys are always upgrading their TC. try www.dsm.org . . . find a local. there is one in TB and O-town.

The SR project is at a slow start. I need to fix some interior stuff first like my gas tank, rust in the trunk and hatch area, and some new brake pads.

My bad. The stock T-25 can only handle 13-15 psi. Still not much compared to DSMs who can hit 22 psi w/ proper fueling.

 

here is the scoop on the hang out spot.....sat nights at the sonic's on SR 60 in Brandon.....they meet around 8pm or so...there was about 100 cars out there last weekend and from there they went to walmart off lumsden afterwards for some good ole dragging...not drag races but dragging frame on the road....good thing is no cops....so if it doesnt rain tomorrow night i will be there....dave your brother meet up with me last week...there was also another lancer out there also that i meet...
