Hi everyone,

We had our first officila EVO meet in Atlanta. We met at Dave & Busters near the Gwinett Place Mall off I-85.
There were 5 of us there. 3 siver EVOs, one Yellow and a Red one. They sure looked nice all together there

There was a group of big Dodge Truck owners there too, they came over to check out our cars. Mike has the red Evo, and Bruce the Yellow one. I think they looked awesome! the 3 siver ones were owned by myself, Jae & Mike.

We decided to skip to Road Atlanta and went instead for a drive to the North Georgia mountains

Jae decided not to go with us.... Maybe next time!! Anyway, Jae might have changed his mind about the handling of the EVO vs the S1000 if he'd gone with us

This was my first time with the EVO in the twisties.... All I can say is WOW!, these cars are nothing short of phenomenal! I followed Mike's red Evo all over those mountain roads and I'm still wiping the smile off my face

 

Is this the area up by Suches GA? I have driven the "loop" in my WRX and love those roads. Just got to be careful though, seems like alot of cars and bikes have been having accidents up there lately.

I need to try my Evo up there. Carefully of course....

 

MAN! I wish you guys would have posted this on the boards before hand. I would have liked to have met up with you guys. I at least could have tagged along with my friend in his WRX

 

Yes, we drove back on 180 by Suches... Very carefully of course ..... Hey, you'll never in your wildest dreams imagine how well the EVOs run there.... I really liked my WRX and took it to deals Gap, etc, But the EVO is in another class altogether

 

Gentlemen, we posted & posted. We practically begged for participants. Limey suggested Road Atlanta as an outing (unfortunately he did not make it to our meeting). We met at Dave & Busters near Gwinett Mall and went from there. In all honesty, this was a very enjoyable outing, we all had a great time and I would like to do it again..... Maybe you guys could join us? We were talking of meeting much earlier the next time and perhaps make it to Deals Gap... After all we were practically in Murphy, NC already...

 

Most of the pumps at the Q Trip on Steve Reynolds & Satellite Blvd were out of order. We had to line up at one pump to get gas!!

Yeah, if I had known you guys would be in Suches I more than likely would have joined. I am not big into sitting down and chit chatting at a restaurant or whatever, but if there is actual driving involved, well that is something I definately like.

Well, there ia another possibility.. I've organized a track day before at the Talladega Grand prix track in Alabama... I did drive my supercharged Miata off the track and into the infield though... I'm still a little reluctant to try that again, OTOH, if we got a group of 10 cars, it could be done without spending an arm and a leg... Used to cost $600 for the day, but since they resurfaced the track, I hear the price doubled.... Any interest?
