When are we gonna do this because I should be over at Jon's gathering the small things I'm selling around 1-2 after I get my list ready again. Oh and does anybody know how much shipping the engine to Montana could be?

1) lets shoot for a relaxing Sunday.. IIRC Saturday is gonna be damn downpour
2) Shipping a motor to Montana isn't cheap.. get the weight of the engine itself call around to various cargo shipping companies get a pallet...lash the absolute **** out of it so it doesn't move and make sure the reciever doesn't sign for **** if it looks damaged after shipping.. freight carriers once signed are no longer legally responsible if it was damaged during shipping.. sneaky ****ers

fedex will ship it non freight to a business address if its under 150 lbs. and its alot cheaper than freight. i shipped an assembled 2.3 shortblock and it was right around 120lbs iirc, about $150 to ohio i think? the freight quotes i got were over $300.

I'm guessing he's talking the WHOLE motor which is pushing well over 120lbs easy

i actually just came across my old reciept... my old shortblock was 125lbs with packaging and it was $93 to ship to ohio. if you cant get a long block under 150lbs, it might be worth trying to take the head off and ship it seperate. would probably still be half the cost of freighting it

hey i got a question for you mase'd folks... what program does he use to tune? does he tune mivec maps and all that? i stopped by one time and he suggested getting an mbc to use for boost control, but i was kindve leaning toward ecu control with an upgraded 3port. which is better/more reliable on these cars, an mbc or upgraded 3port?

I would assume that Mase uses ECUflash/Evoscan, but I haven't been to his shop so no clue. As for the boost control subject, Manual boost controllers are simple and reliable. ECU controlled boost seems to work great if and when set up properly, however it is all trial and error, you have to tune it to get the result that you are looking for.

Ebc

I had the Hallman MBC cockpit (still have it in garage) It was great. Then upgraded to BVP/Jestr EBC for stock Ecu. Boost hits harder and quicker!! But to each their own..

Groton is nice but very cold! I will hopefully have my car here in a few weeks. It sucked when I would be marching and see evos driving around. There where tons scoobies up on the base.
