Its our customer's car Joey.

Last we remember it, it was a 2.4L stroker on stock turbo, MAFTPro tuned by us.

Customer built the engine himself.

Megan Racing street coilovers, Hotchkis rear sway bar, strut tower brace, powerflex motor mounts, battery relocation to trunk.

Tilton twin disc cerametallic.

He traded it for a BMW 335i twinturbo.

update: what a pile of $hit.
won the car on ebay last week, sent the guy $500 deposit after talking to him a few timeson the phone and specifically asking him all of the important questions like "does it run correctly, does it drive correctly, are there ANY problems with the car whatsoever", and explaining to him that i would be flying in and driving the car back, so i needed to know that it would get me home. he said it was great, and had no issues, it was ready to go EXCEPT that the previous owner had removed the AC, but he assured me that it would all be installed and blowing cold by the time i showed up to get the car.

so i was satisfied with all of this, went to the bank, secured the loan and then booked a flight the next day.

Never ever ever fly on jet blue. my flight out on wed was supposed to get to florida at 6pm, i was going to pick up the car and drive to atlanta, where i was going to pick up some wheels the next day, and continue on home.

the flight was 3 hours late, so i had to take a cab to a hotel room ($75), stay in a hotel room ($50) and hang out at a strip mall karaoke bar full of meth addicts and old leather footballs with eyebrows drawn on them.

the next morning i call the guy with the car and tell him which hotel i was at, address and everything, and he sends a guy to pick me up. 2 hours after i had to check out of the hotel a guy calls me and says hes there to pick me up....but hes at some other hotel in some other city. an hour after that, he shows up at the place where i actually was.

when i arrive where the car is, i start checkin it out while the main dude is inside on the phone. immediately i notice that the rear suspension is bent, both rear wheels are bent, and there are a handfull of other things that are less importrant. i did expect there to be some things on the car body wise that i wouldnt have noticed in the pics....thats obvious, i was expecting those things.

the guy finally comes out, and i ask him about the AC which was supposed to be installed last week. he says, "oh my guy has been working on it all week, and realized today that he needs a bracket for the compressor"

step one install AC compressor bracket onto engine
step two install ac compressor.

so i told him how unhappy i was about that, and then i mentioned the suspension, showed him and he didnt really have much to say. luckily the check from my bank showed up while i was actually sitting there...so i held on to that. so he tentatively agreed to refund some of the price because of the ac, and i told him that i wanted to get the rear suspension looked at before i tried to drive it all the way home, and that if he would cover whatever costs involved with those two things, that i would still take the car. he said ok.

so then we went for a drive.

started the car up, and at idle, the steering wheel shook so much that you couldnt keep a grip on it, and there were many strange squeeks and rattles. pullled the car out onto the road, and it wouldnt rev over 4.5k. as soon as the boost came on, it would hit what felt like some sort of electronic rev limiter, or misfire. you could the pedal to the floor in any gear, and it would just misfire at 4.5k. so we went back and i was like, what the **** man?

we talked some more numbers, and i called some Evo shops in south florida and they gave me some ideas of potential causes for this. i checked all of the obvious things like IC pipes leaking...etc...but this was a definite electrical malfunction. the only thing i found was the MAF was unplugged, so i plugged that back in, but to my surprise, it changed absolutely nothing, the car ran exactly the same with the maf plugged in or not.

at this point i told the guy to give me my $500 back AND pay for my flights and my cab ride and my hotel AND take me back to the airport.

so i sat there and made him fire up his paypal and give me back 900 something dollars. then the other dude took me to the airport....although i was slightly nervous that he was going to kill me and leave me in a field for Horatio Cane to find.

THEN

never ever ever ever ever fly jet blue, even if they are the last airline on earth, and the world is on fire, and they're offering free flights to another planet.

i booked a return flight at the gate, which was no big deal, it was on time etc. i got to the airport at about 2pm and the next and only flight was at 4pm.

3pm rolls around and they make an announcement that the plane is broken, and needs a "part" and that were now delayed till 7pm. ugh. ok. no big deal. i ran into this chick i went to HS with strangely enough that was going to be on the exact same flight. so we went to the bar, had some vodka and some cheesecake. long story short, they delayed the flight until 1AM and in the meantime i spent more at the bar than i did on the flights, and ended up in a wheelchair with the number 37 on it, and the stewardesses at the gate offering me free drinks and movies once we got on the plane, to stand up on the counter at the gate, and entertain people. so needless to say i got up on the counter, took the microphone in hand, and took off my pants.

LOL damn...

Jet Blue was the best experience I ever had when I flew them. Sorry to hear about all of this. Guess that's why I'll never buy a car or put down a deposit unless I see it in person first.
