Raleigh/Durham/Triangle Area Meet
i got mine done at Northridge Auto Spa.
$250, for 4 doors and rear, and I'm kind of like, meh. Not thrilled with the way the drivers window was cut at the top rear. Plus they sold me on their mid-grade tint, then were out of it, then sold me something else, it was kind of a pain and made me wary of the whole process.
I hear that Sound and Security place on Glenwood does good work, but $250 for 4 doors and back window seem to the the norm. Not sure what they would charge to do rears only.

It was the same place, Hap owns it and was a pretty cool guy.
Yeah the tint guy was upselling, telling me he wouldn't sell me this, wouldn't sell me that, oh, you don't want that $190 tint, it's cheap, etc.
To be honest, he kind of pissed me off. If I hadn't already gotten 3 quotes that were $250, I never would have went there. The only reason I did was because everyone else had a week lead time, and he could do it on 1hrs notice.
I will say that I don't think he ripped me off though. I would have thought it was a bait-n-switch except every tint line he talked about he told me the names of beforehand, showed me what he was out of, and what he was replacing it with, and I looked it up on my phone while he prepped and the tint was comparable. Just his attitude about selling kind of hit me the wrong way.
A buddy tints windows professionally but is recovering from a non-tint related injury
so I'd probably have gotten him to do it... If I didn't know him, I'd probably go back I guess. I'd just discuss the lines a little more and not get stuck in a situation where I had to make a decision on the spot again.

I've seen the movie with Jay Chou.
and like two of the anime, which I think is what you are probably asking. I think I saw it was on Netflix, but I don't have time to watch anything these days.
Why do you ask? There a lot of Evo-related content? The movie has a SICK Evo III (I think) driven by "the bad guy".
for the Geo Storm reference. You just dated yourself, some of these kids don't know what a Geo Storm is.
Good perspective by everyone and judging by the look of her car, I definitely would not want to be on a bike. That is not a bump and fall, that is a get CRUSHED. I'm pretty sure that the X was her brakes, and a bike rider would have been seriously fubar between her and the car that would eventually stop her car. Man people **** me off when I think about that! Reason #1 that I hated riding in Raleigh.
On a lighter note, glad you liked the mockup Nick, I hope that help you visualize. If you want to see something different, let me know and I can whip it up next week, even a graphic mockup on the sides would be easy to do so let me know. PM me if you want to keep it off the thread.
Are you thinking about silver or black wheels with the carbon?

Jay, your MSPAINT skills know no bounds, my friend. NONE!
Jason, I'd be curious if this place you had a good experience with does custom stuff or just OEM repairs. Would you mind a referral? Jay made a couple of recommendations before, and I'm planning on checking them out, but want a couple of second opinions as well. Sucks about the car, but it would have happened whether you were driving an Evo or a Geo Storm. :\

I've seen a couple of the old Initial D anime. And I played the game once in Korea but haven't seen it anywhere since. And I will say NC drivers are better than the English and the Koreans. It was scary driving there, but it def bugs the hell outa me when I see people texting and driving. I'm weary of even talking on the phone while driving, and I've got Bluetooth. Wish I could emp their phones sometimes so they'd pay attention to what they were doing.
The anime has 4 different stages and 40+ episodes. My friend got me hooked on watching it. They make Evo drivers in the anime look like douche bags and jerks. I'm just curious if what they talk about is accurate in the real world of racing. Again, it's only an anime...
Word. The gold looks sick as hell on blue. Red also, but that is irrelevant. tfish'es car is sick.
You strike me as a "loud and proud" kind of guy when it comes to graphics. Are you planning on a seriously huge graphic? Like the size of my mockup? or are you thinking of matching the blue as close as you can as a kind of half-wrap, carbon reveal design. Have you found your graphics shop yet?

Loud and proud....yea, I suppose, just never thought of it that way.
The whole CF thing came about because (you've seen the car) the whole left side got mauled up in the crash. It was cheaper to do pairs of CF pieces than it was to do UNPAINTED individual pieces back to stock. And the rears and trunk came into play because....well, I'm a "completionist." I don't start things I can't finish. It just worked out that it was pretty much the whole damned car.
As far as graphics go, I don't really know yet. I want to see what it looks like once it's on the car in front of me. Might do blue manufacturer tagging on the front doors, but I don't think I'm going to do seriously huge graphics. None of the manu's I've talked to (including Seibon) were interested in any sort of co-op, and with that in mind, I'm hesitant to put ANY manufacturer's labels on my car, just out of sheer spite.
The other thing that has crept into my head recently is: Am I going to be riding on a ton of wheel gap after shaving so much weight off the car? Do I need to go ahead and earmark funds for coilovers to adjust as such, in addition to the wheels?
I would love to spend some time (and would be willing to pay for it) with a custom shop that did a lot of vinyl, and was able to do computer mockup conceptual designs while I sat next to em.

you know who to talk to
Anybody got a tactrix cable and the knowledge to log my car? I'd love to get a baseline before changing the exhaust or doing anything else. Plus, I think it would be interesting to log it because I've never done one.
Also while I'm thinking about things I need to do that someone may have... Anyone have a boost leak tester and the knowledge to use it? Ali had two but moved away.

Well Daniel JUST NOW sees this so I figured I would post a link to what is going on around here for you guys. I guess Daniel has demanded we come to a meet soon lol. Wish we could get you guys to come down here one Sunday(although i would much rather hang around cary/Raleigh) for like a track meet then head to ale house or hooters down here. We are working on Having a "Force-Fed Performance Import" car meet night with the Local Hooters once a month that should start soon.

Hey Nick, here is a quick shot of the gold, which is tough to do because there is Advan, Rota, 5Zigen, etc. each with their own golds. Black is much easier, but I hope this helps.
