CF update:

Apparently, Seibon also has a set of rear doors in stock, but there is a slight foggy defect in one area of one of the doors. Working with them on more aggressive pricing, but it looks like rear doors and trunk are on the way as well.

Any one of you or any that you know work at a custom vinyl shop? Need to get some conceptual designs together.

So far:

Hood
Fenders
All four doors
Sideskirts
Trunk

I love the blue color of the car, and hoping to incorporate that into the vinyl.

That's going to be insane.

Are the doors made with all the mounting points for the regulator, lock, latch, etc on the inside? Or is it just a skin? I always thought it was the complete door but now I'm wondering.

I don't know anyone that works in a vinyl shop. Anyone else?

Holy crap...that will be pretty ridiculous...Is this car your DD?? Also is it garage kept? I hope so, so the CF doesn't fade..

Yes. It is a complete mold. All hardware and panels connect the same way they do on the stock door (so I'm told, remains to be seen).

I'm going to attempt to do some of the stuff in my own garage (yes,it is garage kept, to the person that asked) but the doors will likely be taken to a shop that will gap it right, unless I found out it's stupid easy to pull the doors.

Also, I'm not 100% sure if the doors come with handles or if you reuse your currents, but if it's the latter, I'm looking into getting PB door handles to stay black.

I've messed around with some photoshop mockups, but I'm terrible at it. If anyone is filling to take a picture of a stock OB X and put the above pieces in CF and post it, I will owe you some beers.

Oh, and side note. I talked to one of my buddies, and apparently you can pull up at one of the weigh stations and get them to weigh your car.

So, I'm going to do a before and after to see. I've got to imagine it's going to be several hundred pounds shed.

Confirmed.

Rear doors and trunk ordered.

All should ship when the fenders are available mid-June.

Sigh. Now for the waiting game.

that is too funny.

Nick there is a weigh station down here we use from time to time. Think its 9 bucks to weigh and if you set it up and weigh within a week I think it is it only cost 2 bucks from then on

Well guys I had a ****ty morning. I found another drive who loves to fumble with their damn cell phone while driving. Its been just about 6 months since the last accident and I'm having to go through all this **** again. I was in morning stop n go traffic on falls of the nuese going to work and was about stopped when I get slammed into my seat. My first thought is wtf how do you not stop with everyone else?!?!?! This girl gets out of the car and states she dropped her cell phone and reached down to get it and hit me. (WHAT POSSESES PEOPLE TO DO **** WITH THEIR PHONE WHILE MOVING?) I honestly don't get it. Anyways on to pics of the carnage.

It obviously has barely been six months as there is barely any crap in the bumper. Usually there is a sandbox in here....

Time for a carbon fiber body!!!

Man that is absolutely why I'm nixing my jdm rear and putting the reinforcement back on.

In Raleigh it's not a matter of "if" it's "when". No one around here pays any damn attention at all.

Sucks dude. Check the trunk floor and back panel closely and good luck.

Jason, I really feel for ur luck man. thats unbelievable! weigh ur options b4 u talk to the insurance company, if the financials work in ur favor, ask for salvaging the car, this is gotta be rough on u to have it hit twice in such a short time. btw good thing u didnt spend $500 on upgrading the tail lights.

Krackmonkey, u beat me to ask u about doing a b4 and after weigh comparison. on the vinyl note, there used to be a gg X owner by the name of Ken (in raleigh...but sold his car few months back!) i believe that wrapped his whole car himself and turned out nice, it might be worth contacting him as I believe he had a vinyl plotter as well.

That sucks Jason, I remember what a pain it was last time. I may be re-thinking going jdm. First you, then Ali, then back to you so soon.

You can run the JDM rear on the IX if you modify the crash beam a little. Several members on here that can do it/have had it done.
