I plan on having the car a long while, lol I know, but for real this time. I just needed something street oriented instead of race oriented, and I have a car now that leans decidedly on the street side. Plus, Dan and I discussed at Ali's going-away party, black cars are a real PITA. White is my first choice, followed by silver, then by blue/red.

A quiet, street evo in white was my unicorn. So when I found it, I jumped. I did not really expect to buy a car today, only sell one LOL. The buyer of my car actually told me about the car I bought... Crazy!

 

That's crazy how you found an evo right away! WW is definitely a great color on IXs!

I'm going to finally try my hand at a semi-pro diy wheel refinish to paint my gold Advans another color. I'm hoping it will turn out ok and I don't have to go the low-temp powdercoating route.

Dan, tell Jeff if you talk to him on EvoX that I'm not going to be able to make it to Deal's Gap. I am working Saturday to make up for burning the entire day selling and buying Evos, lol.

 

I've had my fair share of buying/selling cars, but you've put me to shame today. Sucks about the mileage but glad you found a clean white one. Too bad you can't make it to the gap too. We had a couple of the non-local guys bail

Man, that sucks about people bailing on you guys. I have a rattling coilover on the new car, and there is no way I can get my bilsteins swapped on before this weekend working 10-7 this week. That, coupled with the fact I took an unscheduled day to put together the epic last minute deals, and my week is done. Even my wife understands that I can't go to OIB for Easter.

Yeah, I'm thinking about throwing the Bilstein/Robispec setup on and sending the JIC's off to Muellerized or somewhere else that can rebuild them. The right rear has a thumping noise when compressed. But I will tell you, they feel incredible on the street, much softer and more compliant compared to the Flags.

Holy crap, i leave the forum for a couple days and your already in a new ride. Congrats on the new ride and hopefully i'll actually catch all you guys one of these weekends, my ride is already back in the shop. bummer on people jumpin out on the gap trip. i wanted to make it so bad but between the car being down and work being crazy i didn't wanna sign up then bail myself. hope you guys have a blast out there. def need pics!

 

If by "trade" you mean, sell privately in the morning, buy another in the afternoon, then yeah! Man since I've been an Evo owner I have had some VERY long days.

I had ETS UICP, ETS 4" IC, Tial BOV, ETS Mini Batt tossed on. but it seems somewhere in the last couple months one of the bits of maintenance i had done went south and i ended up lifting my head cause i was running 30psi(without my knowledge). so its back in the shop getting that fixed.

 

yep thats exactly what i meant (i throw a lot of underhand jokes out....most go unnoticed :-) ) god the wait for Friday is killing me. Can't wait to make it back out west to driving heaven. I'll be bringing the camera for sure so there will be lots of pics.

 

awesome, my buddy just got one of those Hero cams so if i make it out next year we'll be able to get some 1080 video

 

i love those things but still think they are a little bit overpriced for what they are. Can't justify the cost just yet but it would be nice to have for trips like this or commuting on the bike just in case something goes wrong.
